I've been avidly reading posts about resale add ons and i think i may want to purchase one. We have other contracts through DVC and have used points for trips outside the disney collection, but not too often. If we add on understanding that the points can only be used on a limited basis, i think i could be ok with that, because we have the other contracts. Am i just rationalizing this?? thanks.

Good for you for taking the time to understand what you are getting when you purchase resale. It is a big financial commitment!

1. If you have enough "unrestricted" points to use for cruises and/or other "collections" (i.e. non-Disney vacations) AND
2. You are intending to use future resale purchases for stays at DVC resorts/RCI exchanges

... then yes, I think you should be just fine!

My only word of caution would be is if you have kids and need to divide the points up someday - then the points won't necessarily be "equal". Just something to consider. Good Luck!

i myself could not use our pts for anything but DVC so resale doesn't bother us.I also think you'll be find.

This has always been one of our considerations in our planning for add-ons.
