Last night, DH got up at 1:30 and shaved, brushed and turned on the shower. Once I woke and realized what he was doing, I tried to open the door, and tell him it was 1:30 AM but he couldn't hear me over the shower and he had locked the door. He thought I was mad and that he overlslept because I was banging on the door so when he finally came out, I told him what time it was. He actually thought the alarm went off and the clock said 5:45.

Needless to say, I didn't sleep much last night. This has happened before, but he's never showered....he'd just "Read" the clock wrong and wake me up nervous.

Is this sleep walking or something else?

My sister and I have been known to do the same thing. Usually I'd "wake up" when I turned on the shower and would see the clock in the bathroom. I tended to do it during times of stress. Haven't done it in many years now! Now I do other goofy things!
When I would come home for a weekend in college I would often awake at the kitchen sink drinking a glass of milk. Wierd.

Oops! I forgot to say that I think it is sleepwalking.

That sounds like sleepwalking. My DS (6) has been found doing some strange things in the middle of the night and I can't get him to talk to me no matter how hard I try. We put him back in bed and he goes right to sleep--in seconds ( am awake the rest of the night!). In the morning he remembers nothing.

Sounds like it might be!

My son who is now 11yo has done some strange and/or funny things when sleepwalking. Once he was getting ready to head out to the garage. We were still awake so stopped him, thank goodness. Another time he peed all over the bathroom floor. Yuck! Another time he washed his hands with toothpaste. Of course he remembers nothing the next morning.

The other morning I noticed that the cat food dish was in the empty diaper wipes container that my DD uses to put the cat poop when she sifts the litter box. The cat food dish was turned upside down in that container, which made quite a mess. The only thing that I could figure out is that Zachary was sleepwalking and I hadn't heard him get up. he was mad when I suggested that he'd possibly done it in his sleep since he doesn't remember doing anything. Funny to look back on these things, but it's kind of scary to thing that he occasionally wanders the house when we are asleep. I do have a chime on the outside doors that I wouldn't hopefully hear if he were to go outside.

No, I wouldn't call it sleep walking, he woke up and misread the alarm clock. I have done this many times...heading out to my car at 3am thinking it was 5 am...He was awake. If it was sleepwalking, I believe the shower would of jolted him awake, wouldn't you?

I have wtinessed two of my brother's sleepwalking, and they thought they were walking to the bathroom. Once was one brother was in the CLOSET...and the other time the other brother was standing over another brother's bed ( I have 7 brothers)..thinking he was AT the toilet. Unfortunaltely for brother in bed, he did not wake up in time to stop the sleep walker. We still laugh over this!

LOL - GROSS!

Hmm....well he's done the "Read the clock in his sleep" wrong a lot in the past. One week, he was under a lot of school/job stress, he did it 3 nights in a row, waking up and pushing me out of the bed freaking out because we overlslept - - - - I got so mad I yelled at him and it didn't happen now for at least a year, until last night. Maybe he's dreaming he's oversleeping?

It was weird that the "shower" didn't wake him though...good point.

DH does this kind of thing every once in a while. The first time I woke up to find him in the closet trying to shut an imaginary door because he said he could hear the neighbors dog barking. OOKKAAYY!!!

The worst time was when I woke up to find him standing on the ledge outside our room trying to "change the batteries in the smoke detector!" Scared the daylights out of me. If he had fallen he would have fallen over 20 feet to the bottom of the stairs. I had to very calmly talk him down.

Yeah, it's sleepwalking...my DH does that occassionally....and usually I just mess with him.....:rotfl: :rotfl:
