Is this cheating?

I think the confusion is that it is reasonable to believe when buying the DDP, you pay for a certain number of meals and snacks - and that as long as you only get those meals (i.e. the correct number of kids vs. adult meals) it shouldn't matter who eats them.

Since Disney makes money on the DDP when guests don't use all their credits, of course they would have rules that favor the 'no sharing' policy...and since Disney sets the rules, they win!

Its not a matter of "no sharing" its a matter of giving what you paid for to someone outside of your party who didn't pay for that benefit. You can certainly use your credits however you want, as long as its only you (the party with the package) who actually use them. I just don't get it.

Ok, well let me help you. When we were in WDW in Dec, both my sis and I were on dining plan. I had made ADR's way in advance and she didn't. She couldn't get any table service meals. She had 8 left and 2 days to go. I was able to get us into Maya Grill and SSR's restaurant and we all used her credits. If not, she would have lost them. We had used ours up. No different than going into Goofy's at DTD and buying 12 caramel apples to take home for gifts using my snack credits. No matter how you look at it, you have to pay the mouse. So why does Disney care how you use your points as long as adults use adult points and kids use kids points? Believe me, they aren't losing money when you look at almost everyone on property carrying a disney bag full of souvenirs. I always have to take a large empty suitcase and then also buy a shopping bag to get my stuff home!

This is just my opinion, so please don't throw tomatoes.
