£1,161 for two people for 14 nights including flights, hotel (World Champion Resort with free shuttle bus to parks) and £498 on top for both of our tickets.
What do you think?
We'd just want to do Disney we think, we are in for the "Magic" as as much as we love thrill rides and would love to visit Universal etc, we're happy with just the magic ;)
How much spending money would we need to take? We aren't bothered about fancy dining and lots of souvenirs but we obviously want money to get us by.

Also remember to factor in the cost of a rental car as well. There is no shuttle from the airport to the resort.

I do. We have paid almost that just for flights (in. Air miles) when we go at the end of Aptil, when are you thinking if going?

It's a good price, but as a PP said, you'll need either a hire car to get from the airport or a cab. You'll also need to budget for food which will be cheaper off-site but you can't really avoid paying park prices if you're going to be at the parks all day. If I remember correctly, the free shuttle bus only runs on a set schedule so at least during the day you'll have to pay park prices.

If you get a hire car, you'll have insurances to pay, if not, you will have limited options for dining from the hotel and may get stuck with hotel prices for drinks etc. I would budget at least £700 each for spends to pay for all of your food and other purchases.

You need to factor in all the expenses/pros and cons of an offiste stay

Free hotel shuttles seem great, but they come at a cost.
You don't get to go to the park whenever you want. You're tied to a set schedule which is not the best of schedules. If you miss your shuttle then you'll need to call a cab.
You can't eat offsite without a car. So you'll pay full price in the parks, for almost every meal.

If you get a car (which is the way to go when you're offsite - my personal opinion) you need to factor in the $14 a day for parking at the parks, the cost of the rental, gaz, and so on.

An offsite stay does not mean that you're guaranteed to save money (when you add it all up) it means that you'll get better accomodation for a similar price.

if you're not getting a car, then good luck. Relying on free hotel shuttles means you'll lose a lot on your park days, and it will be more exhausting.
If you're getting a car, then the excess created by the rental, gas, and parking at the park ($14 a day) would probably be enough to get you a Disney hotel instead of the offsite hotel if you added that excess cost to what you'll already pay

do the maths ... but to answer your question, an offsite stay without a car is not worth it, no matter how much of a bargain you get for it.

I totally agree with the above posts, def worth a look at staying onsite when you weigh everything up plus you will benefit from the extra magic hours too! Let us know how you go on! :thumbsup2

If you just going for the "magic" then quite honestly it's a "no brainer" you really "need" to stay onsite and get that "magic" wherever are, Disney hotel lobby, Disney hotel food place, Disney hotel room, Disney hotel bathroom in your room, Disney transport ....... oh yea and the Disney parks :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi, we are also staying at champions world but we paid £620 each for 2 at the end of sept and we are hiring a car as its the best way as we never rely on the shuttles as we like to come and go as we please. We might use the buses once or twice if we go out drinking buts the only time but as for the disney parks what we do is park at the market place and its free and than you just get the disney bus to whatever park, before 10 you have to go to one of the hotels and than swap buses and after awhile you get to know which is the best route to the parks. The only parks we have to pay for are universal and busch gardens.
