Just wondering if there was such a thing as a non smoking loop. I have stayed in the cabins before and i know they have smoking and non but can't remember how far apart the camp sites are from each other (for a class c). Wouldn't want to be next to smokers if we could help it but wasn't sure if this was a request that could be made. No flames please, i just can't tolerate cigarette smoke, even while outdoors. :sad2:

Not yet but that day is coming. Our city is trying to pass Non smoking policy for outdoors. So if you smoke your days are #. :smokin:

Campsites were far enough apart that we didn't have any problems with cigarette smoke there. My surprise was the smoking just outside the bath house. The way the door/path/rail was set up, my only choice was to pass through their exhaust.

I took a (purposefully exagerrated/loud) deep breath, held it, and ran through, almost in a cartoon like fashion. Whether they were irritated or amused, don't care. I'm sure they got my point, or else they get that special deduction on their tax return.

I have never heard of a non smoking loop or site. I have been camping in fw for over 25 years and have never really had a smoke problem with a neighbor. You can't smell it for the smoke travels all over. I don't think you will have any problems of smoke smells in fw.

This has to be the funniest things I have ever read.
It's a campsite for heaven's sake. There is smoke everywhere!!

I don't smoke, BTW and I really feel that this thread is posted as a joke, right?? :rotfl2:

ummm....no, it wasn't posted as a joke. When was the last time you were at FW? It is not like most campsites with smoke everywhere? I specifically said CIGARETTE smoke  Also why i said "IS THERE SUCH A THING...." Glad you got such a kick out of it though! :smokin:

I'm sorry, this just looked like someone posted it to start everyone laughing.

This is not a flame but an honest question. What is the difference between the smell of one plant burning and another plant burning?
Businesses are going under because of the hypersensitivity of those who do not smoke and I can truly see why smoking in a building would cause angst. I do not want people smoking around us, especially my kids, I do sit in the non-smoking section of places and never take them to bars ;)

Our cost to stay in places is going to go up if someone must become the smoking police. This is not a flame it's a fact. I don't want NO smoking places when I camp if it means that I pay more for it. The price of gas is high enough. If someone must begin to police the great outdoors, we are going to watch our basic site prices go up.

Sit closer to the campfire and you won't smell the cigarettes at all.

I suggest getting used to the "smoking police" becoming pretty much the norm around the country. California is even banning smoking in OUTDOOR restaurants...yes OUTDOOR...!!!! I see this starting to happen everywhere; did you see the second post after mine on this thread? Not to mention the fact that smoking can be quite dangerous to other campers depending on where and time of year. Sometimes, even campfires are banned depending on drought conditions.
I have a funny feeling you'll find alot MORE people happy about the banning of smoking in/outdoors than you will people who get upset.

The original question has been answered, this is not the place to debate smoking vs non smoking so I'm locking this down.
