Is there something on the DIS that just super annoys you?

seeing "prolly" makes me want to jab a pencil in my eye. It's the embodiment of all the **** on the internet. Or at least it prolly is.

I agree about prolly. I can take accidentally misspelled words. It's probably the teacher in me. But purposeful misspellings get my goat.

Hey! If you DO jab a pencil in your eye then you can start a post with a picture of your festered eye and ask if you should go to the doctor!:thumbsup2

People who do not follow rule #1. ;)

People who have medical advice or stories on everything and that advice is always bad or dangerous advice....yet they are allowed to keep posting their "expertise" without consequence.

That drives me the most crazy. I can see sharing stories but if somebody is worried about a certain thing why post the most horrifying experience you've ever had in that situation. Do they really think that's helpful? Of course some of them I think are pretty ridiculous and made up anyways (the stories I mean.)

Like this;

I've been having a lot of sore throats lately and the Dr is talking about removing my tonsils. I know it's an easy procedure but I'm nervous.

So everyone offers very nice support and not to worry and then you get this;

I had a sore throat one time and I went to the Drs. They immediately put me in the hospital against my will and ripped my tonsils out before I even had a chance to think about it. Then some stupid Dr looked at me funny and I got a horrible infection and almost died. I hate Doctors. They are all cracks.

I mean really. How does that help somebody??

My work here is done...Now I can return to my home planet!!!!

hehehehehehe

YES!! RUM!!!!!

I got the Bacardi, you bring the Coke.

Seriously, the only thing that really annoys me is when people don't read carefully and jump to the gun making assumptions. I choose to think the best of people. Unless they prove themselves otherwise.

I think before a person assumes, they should remember the breakdown of that word. :rolleyes1

Oh, I guess there is one other thing: people who think they are going to change other people's minds about a political, moral, or religious belief. Honestly, some people are going to give themselves carpal tunnel trying to post the same belief and same line of thinking over and over again. Live and let live. It is possible for a Democrat and Republican to be friends, a pro-lifer and pro-choicer to be friends, and a Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Jewish person, Wiccan, etc., etc., etc. to be friends.

I started a thread about allowing my daughter to attend a sleepover at a hotel with a classmate for her birthday. A few people felt the need to tell me about children disappearing and being kidnapped. I know their hearts were in the right place, but I didn't need the links to the news articles. :scared1:

I should say not. People fail to realize sometimes that there is a person over on the other side of the computer.

your prolly rite!

hehehehehe

I don't like the use of the word "super" to describe a value beyond the normal.

Well, GP, you are truly a SUPER comedian.

We've had a SUPER day.

I find the word, "phenominal" rather annoying as well, but that's because I know someone who uses it all the time. You know, like a catch phrase that a person uses almost every time they post (say, RUM?)

Okay- here is another one. Parents who rant and rave about their child's teacher and then say they are going to contact the "Principle".:headache: :sad2:

It makes my head hurt.

Listen up!
P R I N C I P A L

I can't stand how my heart doctor just keeps telling me to take my bp meds even though I've become a lathargic slug.(with still high blood pressure, btw! :rolleyes:)

Oh wait, I'm sorry; You asked what annoys me about the DIS!! ;)

Nothin' really. I like this place. I come here because I can get SO annoyed with RF!!! I wish in real life I could just backspace or skip over a thread!!!:rotfl:
