Is there something on the DIS that just super annoys you?

I get super annoyed when people make statements/insults that are obviously intended at a certain person, but then try to act like they're just making a "general" statement, because they didn't mention the specific person's name.

:rolleyes:

:

I agree, I also think that scarcasm, which is not really allowed, is over used by people and they miss the mark, don't you think?

now that is annoying.

Hmm, other things tht annoy.

Over use of questions that have no real answer? yet people keep posting the same old stuff?

Unfortunately, I'll admit, I'm a pretty sarcastic person.. but, the sarcasm in my previous post was not directed at you. :goodvibes

People who do not follow rule #1. ;)

That drives me the most crazy. I can see sharing stories but if somebody is worried about a certain thing why post the most horrifying experience you've ever had in that situation. Do they really think that's helpful? Of course some of them I think are pretty ridiculous and made up anyways (the stories I mean.)

Like this;

I've been having a lot of sore throats lately and the Dr is talking about removing my tonsils. I know it's an easy procedure but I'm nervous.

So everyone offers very nice support and not to worry and then you get this;

I had a sore throat one time and I went to the Drs. They immediately put me in the hospital against my will and ripped my tonsils out before I even had a chance to think about it. Then some stupid Dr looked at me funny and I got a horrible infection and almost died. I hate Doctors. They are all cracks.

I mean really. How does that help somebody??

:lmao::lmao:

People who ask a question and then get annoyed because not everyone is blowing pixie dust and sunshine and then they ask for the thread to be closed and/or they take their toys and go home. If you ask for people's advice be prepared for their opinion. You asked. It's not like we offered random thoughts speculating on your angst of the week.

I get annoyed at people who always have a snotty answer. No matter what anyone says, she comes across as a know it al.

I get annoyed by the people who pick apart other people's grammar and spelling in their posts. Not everyone got straight A's in English and spelling.

This one is mine, too. Also, it irritates me when people say someone is "flaming" somebody just because they are disagreeing with them. I really try to explain my reasoning if I say I disagree with someone, and I try to acknowledge that they have a right to their opinion too. And yet it seems that the reaction from some people (and not always the same people on each thread) is always to accuse everyone who disagrees with the OP of flaming, no matter how polite those who disagree are trying to be about it.

Maybe I just don't understand what flaming is? Or maybe they don't. Sometimes I wonder if the other poster and I are even reading the same thread.

It really annoys me.

ETA - Oh, and can I just say that every time I look at the title of this thread, I think it says "Is there someone on the DIS that just super annoys you?", and I always think what a bad idea the thread is. There's no way a thread like that could ever end well!

:lmao:Funniest things I've read in years!!! aMEN!!! :worship::worship::worship:

...:snooty: I take umbrage to that comment[...cuz you KNOW you always laugh at MY lil 'gems'...;)].....now THERE'S a word you don't see on the DIS every day........

This has probably been mentioned earlier -- but I get really annoyed at people who don't know the correct way to subscribe to a thread.

For the most part I would agree with you. But....sometimes it's just way past atrocious, almost to the point of not sure what they are spelling. There is such a thing as spell check and I would hope that some people (who know they have a problem with spelling) would actually use it as a learning tool.

I think the ones that annoy me the most though are those coming from teachers. I can understand an occasional slip but consistently? No. Then it will annoy me.

What annoys me are people who don't do the simplest search for answers to their questions. Instead of searching (either here or Google or somewhere else) for an answer to their question, they post the question here.

What then REALLY gets me is when that question has been answered here 1000 times before!!

What really annoys me on the DIS is when people come on and post something that someone else already said, like, an hour ago! I mean, don't they read what's already been posted? Maybe they're just trying to boost their post count or something :confused3

;)

:lmao:

As previous posters, I think those who talk about their excesive debt and bills all and have 5 $$$ vacations in their tag all in that past 2 years and those that don't bother to look stuff up like "how is the Toyota Celica" bother me the most.

Really this is the last place you are going to get great info on products like cars vs. opinions. And most of the time people point them to a website that better answers their questions and instead of reading it they continue to ask here. I think people ask those types of things because they don't know anything else to start a thread about. They certainly aren't intersted in educating themselves about a topic or they would have googled it and found sites pertaining to that thing.

I would not ask DISers what the best digital camera is, I would most likely read consumer report articles or check out the feed back on sites that sell digital cameras.

People who need to be the laugh of the party... at other people expense.
Some people have no where else to go to ask for help, and someone is always ready to pounce on their situtaion with a big laugh, and there's usually another mob-follower who is anxious to chime in with a :lmao: so they feel like they are part of the popular crowd at high school.

Pathetic.

I agree with this for the most part. It always surprises me when people don't do their own research about products like those you mentioned, especially when there are such great resources available. I research things to death before I buy them - I always want to be sure to get the very best that I can of whatever. On the other hand, I also like to hear from people who own whatever it is. There have been products that I have gotten based on their great reviews, and they turn out to have some little thing about them that other people might not notice that just drives me crazy. (Like the fact that the lens cover of my phone - which I otherwise love - keeps coming open in my pocket and getting dusty. It's irritating. I don't know that I would have chosen differently based on that fact, but maybe I would have.) I like to ask people what they would change about the highly rated products that I'm considering purchasing. I've never done it on here, but with the wide variety of posters on here I can see how the Dis could be a good place to ask stuff like that.

I thought of another thing that bugs me. I hate it when someone posts that something bothers them and people respond with "There are more important things to care about than that!" I think that's really rude. Their issue might not be important to you, but clearly it is important to them. I'm sure some of your issues seem trivial to someone else, too. There's no reason to belittle someone else's concerns just because you think they are unimportant.
