Is there something on the DIS that just super annoys you?

Is there something here on the Dis that just completely gets under your skin?

For me it's when posters will repeat the same thing many other people have already said. And I am not talking about those long threads that you don't want to read but you want to give your input... but the ones that are only 4 posts long. You say... yes, BTMRR is open when MK opens and the next person below you writes the same thing an hour later!!!!!!

This just happened to me and I am annoyed because this person just goes around affirming what others have said to... idk, boost post count. I really should just put him/her on my ignore list.



What what about you all, I am curious. I hope these things aren't things I do but you never know...

If there were anything on the DIS that super annoyed me, I wouldn't be here. Seriously, there are plenty of websites out there that really annoy me (like Foxnews.com) so I just don't go there. Life's too short to spend time surfing websites I don't like.

I don't like that you can see the postings of people you have on your Ignore list when quoted in other posters' replies.

Seriously, there are just some minor things, like I wish some of the icons were larger, because I have a hard tim with my laptop's touchpad sometimes. Nothing major.

Just following Rule #1. . . and I suppose just trying to boost my post count.

The political threads sometimes get me down. I do admit to getting sucked in a time or two myself but I usually ignore them so it's not that big of a deal. The grammar gets me sometimes too, not that I am the best or smartest myself.

I don't even bother with the posts that have no paragraphs or use no punctuation. They are just too hard too read.

What annoys me are people who don't do the simplest search for answers to their questions. Instead of searching (either here or Google or somewhere else) for an answer to their question, they post the question here.

What then REALLY gets me is when that question has been answered here 1000 times before!!

Nothing super annoys me but I have to say that I roll my eyes when someone comes on here and is worried about not being able to pay their bills and then they have a ticker to some elaborate concierge level trip - or any trip really- to WDW in their siggie. Then when people ask about it they "claim" it was a gift from some relative. Please huh. I can count on less than one hand the people I know who had a relative pay for a trip for them. Over here though it seems like everyone is related to Daddy Warbucks. Now I wouldn't care otherwise, but when you are comtemplating bankruptcy and you have a rich trip giving relative I don't buy it at all. Just a pet peeve of mine. I think those posters are full of it.

NOt a big deal but I notice that too - probably because when I was a MOD on the AOL boards there was one woman that would do that every time. There could be 20 answers already and she'd come on and hours later give this big long answer to the question. It had been pointed out many times that she always answers questions that were answered already but she never stopped.

The slowness of the boards. Sometimes they are so slow that I simply give up. I'd probably spend more time on the DIS if they didn't crawl so much.

The search feature doesn't seem to work well either.

Sometimes I feel like things I say are ignored. Like someone will post asking for advice or someone's opinion on something and I'll give mine. Then the OP will respond, making no mention of anything I said. Then someone else comes along and gives the same advice I gave and the OP responds to that person that it is great advice.

I don't take it personally or anything (I don't take message boards THAT seriously!) but it's just one of those moments where I have to roll my eyes! Maybe because I have a low post count relative to many people on this board? Oh well, no biggie.

For me it's the lack of a good search engine. There is so much great, helpful information, but you can never find it without a lot of digging. Drives me crazy! Love the site , but just don't understand why they can't work on the search engine and make this an even more enjoyable place to be.

Which is why we have a million posts asking the same things over and over, as someone pointed out as their most annoying thing above. It's a domino effect.




Certain overused phrases annoy me, like "hypocrisy at its finest!"
