Is there going to be a price increase?

I called my guide the other day, and on her recording it said that the prices were going to be going up? Anyone know anything about this? Is this SSR and add-ons? What's the scoop?

It is going up the end of March. That doesn't mean the price you'll pay buying in will go up, just the full price per point. Incentives vary and you never know when the next great one will come out. DO NOT rush a buy in for fear of price increases. Those increases are minimal in the big scheme of things anyway. A $3 pp increase amounts to $450 on a 150 point buy in.

The base price for new purchasers will increase to $101 per point on April 1. Existing members may still purchase at $98 per point until sometime in the summer. No word as of now what incentives may be offered, but I'd expect the current $8 discount to at least remain.

In the past, add-ons at non-SSR resort prices also increased following a base increase and ROFR has also usually had an upward trend.

I spoke to Jeff today from DVC.We are going to the world in March(18-27) and have scheduled a tour. HE told me the current promotion is $1200 off (that makes it $90 a point)which means to meet the minimum down we would have to put down $1740. Buying in during March would give us a Sept use year and that they would give us the 2005 points(150) immediately and then we would have 150 coming due this Sept. This sounded like a good deal to me especially since we would be getting those extra points!!!!

Ian, from what I understand, "sold-out" resorts are going up the same day SSR ones are, March 31 from $92 to $95 per point...no word yet as to whether or not "grandfathering" will occur.

Seriously, I don't fully understand this upcoming price increase. SSR new points are going up to $101 as of the end of March to all new members, but existing members can do an add on there for less or the same price? What price is that? And what would existing owners pay for an add on at a different resort (just say BCV, as an example) and when does it go up from ? to ? I don't even know what I'd pay for an add on right now at a sold out resort, and DH says I don't need to know!

Not 100 % sure on this, but I think that the price goes up to $101 full retail on March 31, but for members July 31.

But, seriously....can you believe how much resales are going up? Most VWL contracts lately have been hovering around $90 per point...makes you feel good that you bought when you did, huh?

Just wondering.... If I want to get BCV and ask to be on the waitlist, can I lock in the current price. If the wait is going to be a year, it would be nice to get the price before it goes up...

Sometimes yes....sometimes no. I have been a member for DVC during the last two price increases from add-ons. I was on the waitlist when the price jumped from $85 to $89....no "locking in" of the price. I just got a call from my guide one morning to tell me it was going up, and to ask if I wanted to stay on the list.

The next time it jumped from $89 to $92, the price increase was announced WAAYY in advance, and everyone was offered the chance to get on the waitlist and "lock in" the lower price.

Yes, it was I believe just about 1 year ago that I bought your resale (can you believe it, and I've so far been down twice).

I was thinking the other day about how the realse prices gone up in the year since. I think I had good timing and bought at the right time. Soooo, that got me to thinking about price increases and whether I should be thinking about doing it now as opposed to waiting.

I've added on at VWL and am done with that. I did 2 small reale add-ons directly with Disney. However now I am considering adding on at BWV.

Yes, I believe it's on an SSR add-on of 120 pts.
