never see? There's a title that just irritates the you know what out of me. I wish (once again) that there were a way to block even seeing a thread. I'll never go in it, I don't want to see it. It BUGS me.

Do you have one like that?

yep...the politics threads...they start all nice and stuff but then they end up in a fight.

That's really wierd! I was honestly asking myself that question a couple days ago! I say "Bring back the Debate Boards!'

::yes:: ::yes:: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

No, because anything THAT bad wouldn't be allowed on the DIS to start with. I think the DIS is a well moderated board and everything that gets through is OK. If the content doesn't sound like my cup of tea, I don't open it.

Oh yea I've found myself rolling my eyes at threads before but its a free board, I just don't open them.

Due to life experience, there's just some things I'd rather NOT see staring me in the face...and something is doing it. It's not bad...it's just a personal thing I have trouble dealing with. ;)

Yep. Anything that starts with "My SOB Ex.....".

Yes, some of the very sad ones. Child abuse, death's, etc.

I know they are important to others, but I wish I could just keep them out of my view while others can view them. (Like with the signatures, you can view them or block them.)

Some just make me to sad.....

No, not really. Other than the sad ones, I don't get worked up over what others are saying.

Yes, there are a few that are posted each day. I put the user on ignore, but the posts are still there. I wish there was a way to block certain posts. But at least I can ignore the poster and skip over the threads, too.

MARY JO!!!! OMG, your rascals are like......grown up!!! Wow, how time flies. They are great looking kids! :)

On topic, yes, ocassionally a thread title goes to places I don't want to be. I've found 9 times out of 10 I'm a lot better off if I just ignore it. :)

 Sandy!

With me it's some of the ones where someone's personal story becomes fodder for others sociopathic ramblings. Take three steps and head directly to psychoanalysis instead. There are shrinks out there that can help exorcise one of their passive/aggressive internet aggression. Go to one of them instead of badgering the OP!:D

Lol, it kind of reminds me of that old seventies mentality in some of the books that I've read, where it's like "let it all hang out" no matter how rude or hurtful you are. Well it's the 2000's now so that attitude has gone the way of "free love and unprotected sex."

:earseek:

Oh well, enough of my rambling.....atleast you are nice to people, snoopy!:sunny:

Political threads do that to me. For the life of me, I can't imagine someone reading a thread here and saying "You know, I was going to vote for Bush, but now that I've read this thread, I think I'm switching over to Kerry." (or vice-versa).

Might as well try to switch people's religions.

ITA ::yes:: Sometimes, you just can't post asking for advice without having people pounce on you, twist your story and try to rip you apart.

I sometimes think there are people who find great joy in putting down someone else or trying to belittle others. I know there are a million reasons why people do that, from low self esteem to serious psychopath issues. Mostly I feel sad for them.

Do you all remember when I got a PM from someone insulting my dog? I mean, whose life is so void of joy and meaning that they have to resort to sending hate mail to a dog???

I admit, I get more annoyed with these threads than with the ones with subject lines that make my blood boil. A lot of the political threads make me roll my eyes but I can either jump in and join them or ignore it depending on my mood. I don't mind seeing the the subjects. Personally, I know Bush supporters & Kerry supporters whom I like and respect. Likewise there are a few supporters of each who drive me mad.

But seemingly innocent subjects from people looking for advice, or just wanting to vent who wind up with a few nasty people calling them names etc. really bug me. It's happened to me, and it's happened to others. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point it happens to all of us at least once.

I admit I have on a few occasions (maybe 3 that I can recall) been mean (almost always in regard to animal posts).

But I try not to.

If someone is seriously looking for advice, or seems down or like they need to just vent, I do not insult them, blame them or rant and rave at them like a lunatic.

And, luckily there are a lot more NICE people than mean people here on the DIS.

As for the OP, I guess I really try hard not to let things get to me. I figure if something is THAT bad it won't make it through the censors, and anything else, I can just scroll past.

 I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Try to ignore that bad posts. I know it's hard but if you let them get to you, then the "meanies" win.

(I hope the Monty Dog posts are not the ones getting you down!)

I've never seen you be mean, Esmerelda. Not once. I doubt you ever were. Not intentionally, anyway. :)
