So we are heading to MK on Sunday Sept 11th for the halloween party. My kids have appointments at Pirates League at 1:30. Reading that it takes a really long time I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time for that before our first FP at 4. I just found out Skipper Canteen takes reservations so I checked and they have a 4:45 for dinner. We were planning on just a QS dinner between fast passes. This is my plan and wondering if it would work out. My only worry is how long dinner will take and if we can get up to HM before our fast pass runs out at 6:00. The only time they had left was 4:45. Any advice ill take!

1:30 Pirates league
4:00 Ride Pirates with Fast Pass (4-5 time window)
4:45 Dinner at Skipper Canteens
5:45 Ride Haunted Mansion with Fast Pass (5-6 window)
6:00ish Ride Mine Train with Fast Pass (6-7 window)
Party starts at 7:00

You are correct in your concern.
You may or may not be out of dinner at Skipper Canteen in time for your HM FP.

Arrive at Skipper Canteen 20 min. early.
When you have ordered, ask for your bill immediately and settle up while you are dining.
That way, you won't get stuck with a slow check at the end of the meal.

Let's see.

I haven't been to Skipper Canteen yet (it's on my list for our fall trip, though). I will say that in my general experience, the meals at the "signature" table service restaurants at Disney resorts are slower-paced than meals at table service restaurants in the parks. In the parks, they're definitely looking to turn the tables over quickly. I'd imagine that if you check in for your reservation a bit before 4:45, once seated told your server that you want to get to a FastPass time slot in under an hour, ordered quickly, and didn't order multiple courses, they'd be able - and happy - to get you out in under an hour. In which case, you're golden.

(And like Robo said above, ask for the check and settle the bill once the food comes, so you don't end up waiting for your server to return after the meal when you're ready to get going.)

If you'll want a slower meal, appetizer, main dish, dessert and coffee, then this probably isn't the time to do it.

Also, just making sure you know that you can enter the MK with your party ticket at 4pm - you'll need to use a regular ticket for entry before your Pirates League appointment. :)

Worse case scenario is you miss your FP+ time and go standby. You can also check for different FP+ times for HM between now and then and even the day of.

Thanks! We did get tickets for that day so we can enter MK earlier than 4. I was just worried to though because we will have to get our party bands and dessert party lanyard at some point to before the party starts. There just isn't enough hours in the day for Disney lol. I don't know what I should do. I'd really love to eat there but I also don't want to be stressed out about it either and rushing. hmmmm

There is a 12:25 we could plan on getting to MK a bit earlier and having lunch before Pirates League instead. But that will also be tight with only an hour although pirates league is a lot closer to there then HM is.

Same thing goes, then - arrive 15/20 minutes early to check in. Hopefully you'll get seated early. Spend your wait time looking at the menu so you're all ready to order when you're seated. Tell the server you have a Pirates League appt you'd like to make, ask for the bill once the food arrives, settle it up quickly so you aren't stuck waiting on the server to pop back over...

It should work.

Of the two times you're looking at, I'd say pick the lunch one. And enjoy. :)

If I were you I think I would try to change the time you want to do HM. I think if you can work that in before Pirates League it will make for a more relaxing meal and a nice break later in the day.

Or, just do HM during the party.

It will not take 2 1/2 hours to do Pirates League. I would try to move the Pirates FP+ to 2:30 or 3 pm and the HM FP+ right after that. Keep the 4:45 pm Skippers. As others have said, you will be able to ride HM with little wait during the party as well.

HM will be there during the party (and you've seen it before) but Skippers Canteen won't be and it's new to you. Do you really want to rush through a pricey table-service meal (even if you have the dining plan) for an attraction you can easily do later?

I know everyone is saying to just do HM during the party and you definitely can, but from my experience the line for HM has always been really long (30+ minutes) during the party. I'm sure it could be less busy in September than in the middle of October though.

I don't want to chance doing HM during party. We have two little ones and I already have a plan of what I know they will wanna do for the party and we wont be doing any rides during it. I am thinking about just doing the 12:25 before Pirates League. I think ill be out of there by an hour and we will arrive early to maybe get seated sooner. We are not slow eaters and wont be getting dessert or coffee since were doing the dessert party later on in the night. We've never ridden HM either so its def a must for us and wont want to give up our FP.

You don't think? Ive read so many post about people having to actually wait up to 40 minutes just for the appointment time!! And then that the whole process just takes a really long time and with two kids I worry we will def be in there a long time!

We've done it twice and, yes, the waits are long (and there are a few of them - waiting to be called at check-in, waiting for a chair, waiting for the picture room), but it has never taken 2 1/2 hours. It took us 1 1/2 hour, tops. If you are concerned, you are probably smart to schedule in the longer wait time, however.

Hey just wanted to let you know, last year fp+ for the party could not be gotten 6-7. Everyone who had one for that time period got their fp+ cancelled & they had to reschedule them. I think the cutoff time was 6:30, can't remember exactly. If they do that this year, which is likely because they're trying to clear out the queues before the party, you'll need to do 5:30-6:30 for your last fp+. It sounds like that could greatly affect your plans, so just a heads up.

This is correct.
I was surprised to see that the OP had FP+ with an end-of-window as late as 7:00pm.

However, after the initial cancellation you mentioned from last year, I didn't think the "system" would allow booking past the hard cut-off time on a party nights.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking this is the OP's plan, not actually done yet. I don't think September is open for fp+ yet, I believe that would be July.

We went to the Pirates League last year. We were there as soon as it opened so we didn't have to wait at all. Once we were called back we were there about 30 minutes total and that included getting my son a shirt, the "transformation", the photo shoot and finally picking out special add-ons and paying.
