I have been definitely considering cancelling AGAIN with all the of the negative reports but just decided to double down and extend our post Galactic Starcruiser stay by 2 days for a total of 10 days at WDW in June. I am super excited and optimistic that the magic is still there for our family since our last trip in Summer 2019. We will be taking advantage of the Deluxe extended evening hours which will hopefully help and I just NEED a great vacation after not traveling anywhere farther than a few hours car ride in the past 3 years!
It’s great to see all the positivity!! Don’t forget about the Happy Dance subforum. You can celebrate with those going at the same time as you! Happy Dance Subforum
I’m so excited for my short trip coming up 4/22! I had a 10 day trip planned for my son’s 10th birthday May 2020, this is our first chance to see Galaxy’s Edge and MMRRR! I just got a waffle spirit jersey for my son and we’re watching all the Mickey shorts and YT videos this long weeeknd while he’s wearing all the Disney merch with all his Disney stuffed animals Will it be the same as our last trip in 2019 - no, does that matter - no?! It’s not our first trip and won’t be out last, I work at a school in Texas and things are hard right now, having this trip to be excited about and look forward to means the world to me right now!!
I was. We’re scheduled to leave next weekend. We all came down with COVID (despite vaccination). Fortunately mild and we’re on the mend. We’ll be out of quarantine in plenty of time so the plan is to play it by ear but still go. Now the weather has me a bit uneasy. We were hoping for a few afternoon breaks in the pool…..highs in the low 60s aren’t leaving me very optimistic.
But it’ll all work out, I’m just a bit more hesitant than I was a couple weeks ago.
I leave Thursday and it's gonna be my son's first time and we're celebrating his birthday to boot. I can't wait to see the look on his face once we cross the banner as it's been the only thing he's talked about since he found out we were going. He absolutely loves dinosaurs so I'm strangely way more excited for our AK day because of that. I'm even looking forward to our reservation at T. Rex just because of his expression.
Me and my wife are looking forward to trying to track down the new Mickey and Minnie 50th anniversary tumbler among other new merch.
I’m looking forward to it. We are going in April. This is a rescheduled trip from 2020. So it’s been a long time coming. I’m hoping things settle by then but I work in a school & my daughter goes to school so am sure we are exposed all the time. We aren’t cancelling unless we are forced to

Us too! Going in April (postponed from May 2020), I’m an elementary librarian and my son is in middle school - my admin even told me I’m going on this trip no matter what lol!

Indeed I am! I'm very much excited for my trip. I find myself avoiding Disney forums and groups lately because they're a bit too negative for me though..
I would not say 'super-excited' this time around, because all the new stuff with Genie+/ILL/ILL$/IAS/whatever is very hard to understand. As it happens, I selected a park hopper ticket with Genie+ included and was trying to read up on how it works. Then, after reading through a LOT of rule explanations and examples, I found out something changed last autumn that made some of that stuff wrong. Oh well, I'll just have to learn by doing.
In all candor, now I miss the days when Sunset Blvd was packed with ROTR fans all staring at their mobile phones at 6:59:59....
I’m excited! We’ll be there in May, coming from the UK. I cracked and added on genie+ yesterday as we get a discounted rate to add it to the whole trip…I actually feel better now the decision has been made and will make the best of it.
I don’t like a lot of the changes but I’m sure I’ll still cry with happiness when I hit the parks!
We leave in 5 days!! I am still very excited. It looks like the weather is going to be a bit cooler than I was expecting but we will roll with it. This is DH's first trip & it's just the 2 of us going.
I’m going in March for a friend’s wedding and I’m hyped. I’m not doing the parks, but it’s my first weekend away by myself in like 8 years and my first trip to Disney since I was 10. I’ll be using the opportunity to scout out a resort to stay at when I bring the family down next year.
I am SO excited!! Going for our first time in November. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside and Beach Club. Every day I spend a little (or a lot) of time researching everything I can about Disney world.

We’re going end of March Spring Break staying at AOA Nemo (last 3/4 trips were here). It will be our 4th trip post COVID. Our March 20 trip with a 40% Disney visa discount Riviera 1 bedroom with Grandma was cancelled; I had very hard to get reservations on all 6 nights (Oga’s, BOG, CRT, BBB). We were thinking of buying DVC.
There have been things we were disappointed with, but my kids are growing fast and to see the joy and wonder in their eyes is priceless. June 2021 was the worst trip (long lines, relentless heat). Genie+ is stressful for the planner, but everyone else is still having fun. We enjoy Disney despite all the negativity. We’ve had allergic reactions, had to change rooms, flight cancellations last minute both ways; It’s what you choose to make it - we rode EE back to back 4 times with ponchos and rain hitting our face and everyone joined in with us screaming and waving like there was no tomorrow; same thing riding Splash at park close
Risk wise-we took calculated risks (hand sanitizers/wipes/masks washed regularly, vaccines when possible) and Disney felt like an escape from the depression of the lockdown and more back to normal (vacationing). It took me several trips to the local zoo to calm my nerves and be comfortable with crowds outdoors. My now 2 year old didn’t even know what a high chair was the first time we took her Nov 2020.
Me!! Staying at Beach Club for a week in July to celebrate my birthday and my daughters first birthday 2 days later ! We moved to Florida from NY 3 years ago so we have done a true Disney multi day vacation since then ..we’re due !
