Is there any Cars stuff at WDW?

MGM has Lightning McQueen and Mater... at least they did last summer... I"m sure they still do... It's a cool little show and picture taking place in the street...

Yes, DHS has Mater and Lightning McQueen. Check the times listed for visitation. Those lines close very quickly. Get there ahead of time and wait. We got there right before the "scheduled appearance" time and were the last ones to get through that go round.

There's a line to see them now?? We went in April 2007 and it was pretty much a free-for-all. We happened to walk up right as they were pulling in and got photos with our son in front of both of them but again, it was chaos with everyone trying to get photos at the same time. So how does it work now? Do you get a photo op with each one all to yourself? Or is it only one per time in line?

It is a line now. We went in Jan. 07 .. no line and chaos! Went back in Nov. 07 and there was a line. You get to take a pic with Lightning then Mater.

Cool - thanks for the update. Will have to make sure we catch it in December. My DS4 is a huge Cars fan. Do they print the time schedules on the park map daily and do you know how long in advance of a time you can get in line? Do they have Photopass photographers there or is it just take your own? Thanks.

Yes the times are printed on the schedule you get w/ the maps. You can get in line as early as you want. We were the end of the line for our visit time and there were people already standing waiting for the next time.

Yes, there were photopass photographers when we were there in July.

Also, in response to a PP, yes, you stnd in line and get pics just like all the other character meet n greets.

We were there last week. After you walk past Toy Story Mania in the way to the backlot tour, it will be on the left, right by the huge 6 pack of Coke. You'll see a wall painted with Radiator Springs. You have to pose with both at the same time it seemed. There was also a lot of merchandise in the stores as well.

The problem we had is that the day we went to DHS it was raining. They didn't take the cars out at all. I was really upset (it's Florida and rains a LOT so why don't they have something indoors). Every single time was rained out and that was a huge reason why we went that day.
So, I'd try for the early time just in case it happens to rain in the afternoon.
BTW I went and spoke to someone at customer relations who got us passes to go back but we couldn't do it due to flight times
