Is there any benefit to booking a package vs just getting a room only then maybe getting tickets later on? I just don't know if I want to commit to paying in full by 45 days..

I know if you book a package you get fun Mickey Mail! What exactly do you get??

Thanks :)

I'm sure I won't think of everything but a couple things that come to mind are.... if there is free dining offered you have to book a room and ticket package. With a package you get the luggage tags and a booklet with coupons (very few of which we actually used over the years). I guess just the peace of mind knowing that everything is taken care of in one step? Maybe someone else has better ideas.

I guess it depends on the promotion.

We usually take advantage of the free dining promotion, so for us, booking a package and paying 45 days in advance is totally worth it. There was also that Stay/Play/Dine package out in the past that was worth it to some people.

As for the coupons and such, I don't think that's a deal breaker for anyone. We did use the 10% coupon off babysitting a few years back though.

I booked a package and all I've gotten in the mail is the luggage tags and booklet with a few vouchers (we'll definitely use the Disney Quest ones).

I also got another little booklet that had a refrigerator magnet or something.

Then I got a booklet trying to convince me to buy Memory Maker.

I booked the package because I needed the park tickets anyway. It was convenient to have everything link up automatically to MDE. (Saving a few bucks to buy tickets from somewhere else didn't seem worth it, really.) Actually I think I did get a small break in the ticket price with the Summer Vacation Deal Disney was offering.

Paying 45 days out or whatever isn't a big deal to me. The money was in the bank. Didn't really matter to me when I paid it.

To me the most important thing is getting it all paid for at once and then it's done and I don't have to worry about it anymore. That's why we always do dining too.

It's been years since I've booked a package but I think they send luggage tags, so many points on an arcade card and maybe a mini golf discount coupon.

I normally just book room only. I like the flexibility of being able to cancel close to when I go if needed.

Once my AP expires this time, I'm not going to renew it so I might just try booking a package with just room and tickets. (I am not a dining plan fan - doesn't fit the way I like to eat.)

We never book packages...51 trips to WDW and we always opt for room only... Room only discount is more valuable a discount over free dining... we hate free dining.. No money saver for us and making food ADR's so far out is nuts..!

Packages give you items you may not use but paid for ... We can get better ticket prices from Undercover Tourists...

I like to pay everything off the same day I'm booking the vacation which is a few months in advance. The package makes it easier. Then, all I have to do is wait popcorn::

Also, like others have mentioned, you get a coupon book with things like free arcade credits, free miniature golf, free entrance to the indoor interactive theme park at Downtown Disney (can't even think of the name of it right now), etc. Also, most promotions require you to get the package. This time around, I got the free Memory Maker promotion.
