Is there any advance notice they are close to closing registration?

DH and I are there for 2008. However,not sure if we want the 1/2 or full. Is there any advance notice that registration is about to close? I know they limit the number but I don't want to miss out.

For this years they did give notice when it was a certain percentages full (I can not remember the amounts, I will look and see if I can find those emails). Someone always posted the info from the emails here!

I have run the race 3 times and have always signed up sometime over the summer. I would not suggest waiting past August, and maybe not even that long if you're going to do the goofy.

Nope--one minute is open and the next minute it is full.

It usually fills by summer--so as long as you register by late spring, you should be okay.

The percentages help while you are waiting for when you can register---but for that last 25% I think...they don't keep updating you.

Always best to register as soon as you are able to.

That is a good point!! Once they say 25% it is pretty much Full!!

Just trying to hold off as long as possible. We are just after Christmas and we just bought our 17 year old son a car and DD and I are going for the Minnie so cash is hard to come by right now....I guess if I wait a month or 2 I should be OK???

I still couldn't find where to sign up for the emials, maybe once I register I will be able to sign up for the emails.

I signed up for the 2007 1/2 Marathon on May 12th 2006. It was only after I signed up for the 1/2 that I started receiving updates from Disney about how full the different races were.

In looking at back at some of those old emails, the one from 8/10 indicated that both the 1/2 and Goofy had reached capacity and the full was at 80%. The email I received in September indicated that the marathon capacity had been reached.

Last year the Goofy reached full capacity early (maybe May?) because there are only 3,000 slots. The half and the full reached capacity in mid-August. Who knows what impact the 15th anniversary will have on registration.

Yikes, I guess I better make a decision on this. I was hoping I had till the begining of the summer.

I am of the mind set I have seen posted here, I am going all the way to Disney, well only a 2.5 hour flight but still along way, I should give them both a try and be Goofy.....Actually since I have the clippie in my signature I think I have decided to do it just have to actually register.

I am thinking that the 15th anniversary "special" medal may cause it too fill up faster. I think I registered in June of last year.
