Just wondering if theres any Disney cruises that kids aren't allowed on ?

Don't fancy a cruise with all those screaming kids !!!

Nope - Disney is very family oriented, and have a lot of areas/activities just for the kidlets - so it doesn't make sense that they'd have a "kids free" cruise.

But frankly, if you aren't interested in seeing a bunch of kids, it's possible to do a Disney cruise and see very few kids.

So do they keep the in one part of the ship ? i don't think its fair that they just have family cruises, why not have a few adult cruises through the year.
Thanks for the help

When DCL first started there were plenty of cruise lines that catered to adults - so DCL catered to the untapped market of families, which of course means catering to the kids.

Most of the time kids are in the Oceaneers Club, Lab, or Teen Club. There are adult-only clubs and bars on the ship, as well as an adult-only pool (in addition to a kids only pool and family pool).

In the dining rooms we saw kids, but I'd say 99.97% of them were well behaved. Most kids probably end up eating in the Club/Lab, at the buffet, or at the pizza or hot dog place up on deck 9.

My dad always said to me, kids are seen but not heard. So if they were eating in there own place that would be great. Thanks.

....is this guy serious? .... who'd want to go to disney (or cruise) without any kids???? What would be the point? I'd never do it....again! :teeth:

Disney's core is the family. That said, we saw very few kids on our cruise, it was almost spooky. Turns out they are all happily having fun in their 5th deck facilities or the children's pool.

However, people's experiences tend to match their expectations, and it sounds like DCL might not be quite what you want. You might have more fun on the Carnival Ships which have some adults only areas such as casinos and night clubs.

Are you kidding? This is Disney, not Vegas.

Let me guess you are one of those people I see at the parks pushing the childern out of the way to see Mickey arent you

We have no kids, and have been on 5 Disney cruises.

Don't fancy a cruise with all those screaming kids !!!

And in those 5 cruises, never saw what you describe. About the only place there are lots of kids being busy is the kiddie pool. The adult pool is at the far end of the ship from it, they'll not distrub you.

The kids have an entire deck of clubs all to themselves that is totally isolated from the rest of the ship.

And they are not allowed into the adult clubs either.

The--Doc,

My wife and I do not have children either, and we will be going on our second cruise with Disney this September. On our previous cruise, there were many children in the childrens' areas, but I never felt surrounded by them. The whole "Beat Street" area of clubs is off limits to them in the evenings, and there is an adults-only pool area and on Castaway Cay, an adults-only beach. The piano bar, Sessions, is adults only at all times. This is strictly enforced. We found the children in the dining rooms at our late (8PM) seating to be well-behaved. The Disney programs keep many children in their own area of the ship, and I have read that they do a better job of this than other lines. Honestly, if you really prefer not to be around children, the more expensive lines are a much better bet, as they mainly cater to couples.

I totally agree with you. I seriously couldn't believe what I was reading. There are SO MANY cruise lines out there - why bother with DCL if you don't like kids. And kids not heard but only seen are a very sad thing to witness - especially on vacation. Children can be well behaved and still heard. I know of MANY adults I'd rather see than hear for that matter. They are children - not statues:rolleyes:

IF they did a couples only cruise - then they would be ask to do a singles cruise, a single parents cruise (which in my opinion I'd love) but THIS is DCL - Disney - Disney means kids & families of all kinds. Peroid.

Sorry - this post just blew me away::yes::

I’ve got a couple of comments to add. First off, my DH and I are childfree but have been on two Disney cruises. We enjoyed them very much, probably for the same reasons that you all do. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the accommodations are wonderful. Also, DH and I aren’t the smoking/drinking/gambling/party types, so the image that some of the other cruise lines have is very unappealing to us. I like cruising with no casino, frankly. There certainly are a lot of families on board the Disney cruise, but there are also plenty of things for the adults to enjoy. The adult pool, spa, restaurant, and beach are where we spend most of our time. I’ve also heard through this board that Disney is much more strict than many other cruise lines about enforcing the adult-only areas. I think saying “why would you choose DCL if you don’t have kids” is a bit shortsighted. Disney belongs to everybody – kids, adults, and adults without kids.

Now having said that, I think we and Disney realize that their business comes from families, and they would not sell an adults-only cruise, not to mention the ill will it would generate from their core market. Disney has tried to market to DINKS before without much success. Remember the Disney Institute? Hopefully you do, because it’s gone now.

So, to answer the OP’s question, Disney will have an adults-only cruise right about the same time Las Vegas sponsors families-only weekend ;)

We are all adults....me..the youngest (24) will be our 4th Disney Cruise with a 5th planned for 2005. The kids don't bother us at all...We have late seating so if there are any kids..most of them are teenagers or young adults. We use the spa, the adult pool, and PALO. We see kids....but they are not running all around (most of the time) screaming and wild... lol

We don't mind that...they are on vacation just like we are. If kids really bother you, then a Disney Cruise is not for you..either is Disney World.

If you were just asking about adult cruises and like disney. I would say maybe give it a shot and do a 3 day. You don't have to have kids to go on the cruise :) You just have to be a kid at heart! :earboy2:

Ok...I will shut up now!

My husband and I are childless and have taken 38 Disney cruises, with #39 a little over one week away. Believe me, Disney is a much better adult experience than Royal Caribbean! On RCCL, there were a couple of supposedly adults only areas, but there was no enforcement whatsoever. On Disney, the adult pool, clubs, and beaches are enforced. If a CM doesn't chase the offenders away, just ask them to and they will.

Of course, if you really can't stand being around kids at all, then Disney is not for you. Personally, I enjoy seeing the excitement of the kids in the shows and in general, and if I get tired of them, it's nice to have places to escape to. I think Disney strikes a perfect balance. Quite honestly, while an adults only cruise sounds appealing at first blush, I don't think I would do it because I like seeing the little ones.

As DW reminded me, I'm just a really old kid. So I hope DCL wouldn't consider an adults-only cruise, they wouldn't let me on!!!

I think it's obvious "DOC" is just trying to get a rise out of everybody and we're buying it ! The "disney would be great if it weren't for all those darn kids" theme is pretty old.

Thanks for some helpful comments, i do think we could try the 3day cruise. Can i just said, some other comments were hurtful.

Sorry some comments were hurtful. I'm very sure no one really intended them to be that way. Words are hard sometimes.

But, on the brighter side of things I can say no child has complained yet about my running around and screaming on two DCL cruises. I'll even admit that I am a bit inconsiderate at times when on vacation. But, they put up with me. :D
