Ive got a couple of comments to add. First off, my DH and I are childfree but have been on two Disney cruises. We enjoyed them very much, probably for the same reasons that you all do. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the accommodations are wonderful. Also, DH and I arent the smoking/drinking/gambling/party types, so the image that some of the other cruise lines have is very unappealing to us. I like cruising with no casino, frankly. There certainly are a lot of families on board the
Disney cruise, but there are also plenty of things for the adults to enjoy. The adult pool, spa, restaurant, and beach are where we spend most of our time. Ive also heard through this board that Disney is much more strict than many other cruise lines about enforcing the adult-only areas. I think saying why would you choose
DCL if you dont have kids is a bit shortsighted. Disney belongs to everybody kids, adults, and adults without kids.
Now having said that, I think we and Disney realize that their business comes from families, and they would not sell an adults-only cruise, not to mention the ill will it would generate from their core market. Disney has tried to market to DINKS before without much success. Remember the Disney Institute? Hopefully you do, because its gone now.
So, to answer the OPs question, Disney will have an adults-only cruise right about the same time Las Vegas sponsors families-only weekend
