We have a free day and are planning on resort or pool hopping. I would like to go over to see the store in OKW. We are staying at SSR. SHould we just wait and hop on the boat or is there a path we can walk? Thanks

You can take the boat or walk. There is a nature trail that connects SSR and OKW. It will take about 20 minutes to walk from the Carriage House (SSR Lobby) to the Hospitality House (OKW Lobby)

From the boat dock, you follow the golf cart path to the little bridge as if walking to DTD. Once you cross the bridge, veer to the right and follow the nature path to OKW. You end up at the back of OKW in the Turtle Pond area. Then you walk to the HH.

The boat will take you to the HH house. We enjoy our morning walks at SSR and often walk around DTD and OKW to get our 3 miles in. It's a nice walk and parts of it are tree lined.

The Nature Path is not lit at night and it is posted that it is closed at night.

You could always walk over and boat back or bus to DTD and walk to SSR.
HTH!

we rented bikes at SSR and rode to OKW...it was fun!! they said it was fine to take the bikes...we left them by bell services while we ate etc....then we rode back ...

Is it okay to walk on the golf cart path? We started that walk a few years ago and DH wigged out and said we weren't supposed to be there! He made us turn around and go back!:lmao: He is such a Nervous Ned!:rotfl:

Yes you are fine. You do need to watch for the carts, because the bridge is not wide enough for the both of you. You are only on the path for a short jaunt to cross the bridge. If you veer left you are on a non-golf path to DTD and if you veer right, you are on a non-golf path to OKW. The golf path is straight. It is busiest in the early mornings and most golfers are off the bridge by lunch. Plus, the hole just past the bridge is a putting green so no fear of getting hit.

If walking from the Grandstand bldgs you would walk towards the Carriage house and make the first right towards the golf course which will lead you to the bridge.

Don't feel bad-apparently neither do some of the CMs at SSR. I asked this same question at SSR last year, and was told that the only way to OKW was by boat. Just goes to show who knows more about WDW-the DIS!

I had this same thing happen last Dec.! A SSR CM told me there was no path
to OKW "that she knew of". :confused3
