I know, showering... but it's been over a week and the sand is still all over my kids' head! :rotfl2: It must be tough St. Maarten sand or something.

Is there anything I can do besides washing every night and combing it out? Any magic potion? Please? :rolleyes1

We've been back for over 2 weeks now, and I am STILL finding sand in DD's braids that she got done onboard! She says that she brought some of the vacation home with us...:thumbsup2

I usually have them lay in a tub of water and swish their head around. Sand is heavy and will usually fall to the bottom. Shampooing just gives you clean sand in your hair. LOL!

You might try baby powder. That's what I use to get the sand off the kid's bodies after a day at the beach.

I also recommend the baby powder. I usually throw a small one in my beach bag (small trial size bottles from the supermarket or walmart). I like to sprinkle it on our feet after we get off the beach and the sand brushs right off.

Yep, I live at the beach and that's how I dealt with my 6 kids. Get the hair floating underwater and the sand will fall out.

As my DH said our DD6 still has some sand in her braids from our cruise (almost 2 weeks now!). It is almost all out now. Funny story...

2 days after we got back DD had an earache so I took her to one of the Walgreens clinics. The nurse practitioner looked in her ears and said she had an ear infection in both ears. She then starts examining DD's braids. I comment to her that I do not know how they make those braids so small and tight thinking she is admiring them. She says "Oh, I am not looking at the braids, I think she has head lice!" I laugh and say, "No, that is sand from Castaway Cay, we were just there 2 days ago!". She looks closer and says, "Oh, ok, it is just sand." Whew!
