Is there a Project Runway thread? (does anyone watch it?)

I'm still laughing over the fact that Santino thinks he looks like Brad Pitt. Oh, wow. That man's ego knows no bounds. If I had had to wear that awful jumpsuit (escapee from Soylent Green!) I would have turned around on the end of the runway, bent over, and split that sucker right down the center seam! Now *that* would have been the end of Santino. :lmao:

I really hope Chloe wins-Nick, with Daniel as a model, should have knocked it out of the park, and instead it was just soooooo girly.

It's funny; Santino's stuff and Nick's stuff, I can tell immediately that they did it, but with Chloe and Daniel, the clothes tend to fit the request more than fit the temperament of the designer. I like that! That's why I wasn't a big fan of Knitting Boy's stuff last year, it was all basically variations of Jay....

Love your first paragraph :rotfl2:

I can't believe the guest judge really liked the jumpsuit. :rotfl: That and Kara barely moving saved Santino's butt. Nick has been lackluster lately -- and in this last challenge he refused to heed Tim's advice -- very foolish!

Looks like it will be Daniel, Chloe and whoever/whatever.

How about Daniel, Chloe, and (in a suprise move) Austin Scartlett? That's the 3, I want to see!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: So true!

I would love to see Chloe, Daniel and Santino in the final 3. I'm not crazy about Santino, but his runway show would be pretty good I think. Interesting at least.

And chrrycolalola, very cute pic in your siggie!

SPOILER!!!!!!!!

looks like you picked the winners!! I would have much rather have Nick over Santino, but Santino makes for better television! I hope Daniel wins the whole thing. He has been my favorite from the start! Did you see the 5 months later scene, I'm not sure if I like the hair!!

well - I figured it would be Daniel/Chole/Santino (for drama) in the final 3.

but I never realized Chole wasn't AS into into it as everyone else.

Santino's dress last night...was GORGEOUS...until he started adding the paillettes! (sp?) OMG...a little goes a LONG way. That gold color would have been STUNNING on Iman..but it was just TOO MUCH.

Kara...well...I was never "wowed" by her.

Chole's dress was pretty safe...and, as she admitted, poorly sewn (but at least it wasn't FALLING APART!)

Daniel's was very classy...and safe. but that's how he designs.

Santino needs to GET OVER himself...when he was all bajiggidy about Nick leaving a note for Daniel to kick butt...whatever. His "jumpsuit" was a POS and it was falling apart. I'm sure the judges ONLY kept Santino for drama value. And I bet my shoes that he will be a HUGE DIVA during the runway shows.

funny - they are doing a reunion NEXT week...before the finale airs? odd...

Last year they reunited before the runway show, too. They had everyone there to dish, then they brought in Jay, Kara Saun and Wendy.

Santino is definitely this year's Wendy Pepper! I wonder who will get stuck sharing a room with him before the runway show. If Chloe and Daniel are smart, they'll bunk up and give Santino his own room. But, the producers would probably change that if they thought they'd get more drama out of Santino sharing a room with one of the others.

It should have been Nick.

I figured these guys would be the final 3 as well. If you look at it over the whole of the show, I would say these 3 are the most creative and best designers. Kara was really wishy-washy. She couldn't decide on fabric and then it was the design (racer back or no). A good designer just goes for it, even if it is outrageous like Santino. ;)

What was up with that dress? He was smart. You've got to admit it. He knew that if he created a cookie cutter design like the other three, he might have been "out." I do not think he'll win the fashion week deal or even come close, but at least he got himself there.

Daniel's dress would have been better if he had added rhinestones or something of interest in a very small detail. I didn't care for the cut of Chloe's dress although the fabric was pretty.

Hurray for Daniel and Chloe! :cheer2:

I watched the last three episodes last night...I had not seen the make-over episode until last night, and I must say, I am absolutely DISGUSTED that Santino was not eliminated in that challenge. The thing was falling apart. Wasn't shoddy workmanship the reason Zulema was eliminated? But oh, this is Santino...he makes for good TV, so let's keep him in :rolleyes2 . He should be out, it should be Nick, Chloe, and Daniel at Fashion Week...but then, three friends don't make for good drama, so those truly deserving cannot go to fashion week together unless they don't get along! I really don't care for the producers of this show right now!

As much as I dislike Santino's ego, I though he vindicated himself last night amongst some boring designs. As least he has a "message" or style that stands out. He DOES take risks. On the runway he may have 5 bad and 5 good, but at least they'll be remembered. Another reason he asked the lady at "6th on 7th" if people remember the good designs or the bad ones. She said the good ones. So he takes risks and will get rewards (and some flak), but the good ones will be remembered and move him forward.

Again, I'm glad he's in, despite his ego.

What was Kara thinking?? Michael Kors said it best, when he said that the very dress she was wearing and had made herself was far bettter than her black gown.

The designers were supposed to show something that was represtative of their upcoming collection -- not the same old, same old. They chose to play "safe," not that I entirely blame them (except Kara -- she had to realize she would lose any "ties," yet she did almost nothing to give herself a chance, unless she was hoping that Santino would self-destruct).

I excitedly await the re-union and final 3 runway show. (BTW all 4 will present a collection on the runway, but only 3 will be viewed on the show and be in contention for the win.) :sunny:

Oh, I love this show, and I never normally watch TV...I got hooked by accident at a friend's house! :thumbsup2

I think Daniel will win...he's incredibly talent and I can't believe he's so young. I wonder if he becomes the next Armani? :goodvibes

Santino seems like he will go on to do well also. I think Chloe's stuff is nice, but usually less inspired than the other two in the final 3.

So much fun to anticipate the winner! :sunny:

Did anyone else see the end when they flashed a 5 monts later on the screen??? Daniel was dressing Iman and she looked GREAT in his dress. It looked so much better on her than Daniel's model, that is for sure. Also, Daniel's hair was much shorter and he looked so much more mature. I have a feeling he is going to have an incredible runway show.

I can see Daniel being a very successful designer and he is so young that with the right guidance and mentor, he would be an icon in 10 or 15 years.

Santino on the other hand needs to go and find some old Bob Mackie gowns to rehab. The man is downright tacky!! He does make for fine tv however.

Last night I kept on thinking how different the runway would have been if Daniel Franco and Nick were still in it. Both of them would have designed something incredible I think.

Yeah, I grudgingly have to agree that Santino was the only one who took risks, even if he did make his model look like an escapee from a circus freak show. Those pailettes could have been used to make something *incredible* and instead he draped it over the skirt-argh, so lazy! The top was pretty good, and the color would have been wonderful on Iman. Everything below the ribcage was just a disaster. The bummer is that he now thinks he's better than he is because he's so entertaining for tv-oh, I MUST be here because of my talent, not because of my rampaging ego!

Chloe, man, that whole, do I want to be here comment was stupid-she nearly sank her boat.

Daniel's gonna win, we all know it. He can design, he can sew, and he has impeccable taste. Yeah, that dress he made was really the start of a great dress and not the end of one, but did you see how well it fit his model? That's some talent, right there.

Everyone else has been working with their model for weeks and it doesn't show-especially with Chloe's dress-her model's hips were about 5" above where her skirt flared out, and they were jutting out horribly against the fabric. If she had moved the seam up to follow those pointy bones and added some pin tucks, man, that would have been one sharp dress! And the back, oh, man, is the diaper look in this year? Geez. She so choked.

i'm surprised that no one has commented on the fact that Austin Scarlet was wearing more makeup then all the women combined at that cocktail party.

heheheh...he's so out there...i love it

And more hairspray and a better draped scarf.

When she started that stuff, I wondered if the producers didn't get her to say that for the drama of it all. "Chloe, you're guaranteed a spot in the final 3. We just want you to say...." This IS reality TV and all... :scared:

I love Austin Scarlett! He could design a dress for me any time! I just don't think I could afford him anymore.

Michael Kors comment about being a home dressmaker was funny. I forget to whom he said it, but I can't tell you how many bridesmaid dresses I've had made for me by those bad dressmakers. I've only ever come across one seamstress who could actually sew an original creation. She made a flower girl dress for my DD. I know that this dress would have sold for about $3,000 easy in NYC. I don't know what it cost since MIL paid for it. It can't have been cheap.

did ANYONE watch the "reunion" the other night?
I tivo'd it..just watched it last night.

OMG - what in the fresh heck was Lupe on? Lupe was loopy!

I hope she looks back on that and thinks "wow...I'm a moron..."

LOL!

How creepy was the "I Love you Heidi!" part! hahahahahaha!

I just adore Andre more and more. He cracks me up.

OMG, what the heck was that?
I literally felt physically uncomfortable during that part!!! Did they edit it weird or something? Oh god, soooo awkward! :lmao:

After the reunion show, I watched Project Jay and half way though I started to think that regardless of who's runway was the best next week that they would probably pick Daniel as winner of season two. I just can't see him throwing hissy fits and I imagine he would go along with what is required of being the winner of this show.

Jay didn't go along with the Banana Republic contract, etc. And when Heidi's people called and said she was going with another dress, I thought perhaps it was the show and Heidi's subliminal way of letting Jay know its not how you play the game.

I honestly can't see Santino designing for BR either ( like Jay ) but I can see Daniel designing for them and since he came up with such a good dress for them midway through the season, I believe its Daniels to lose at this point.

Lupe was crazy on the reunion show! I was so embarrased for her :scared: It really seemed like she was on drugs and I'm so glad they stopped her babble and said let's get back to reality here.

I also watched Project Jay and had no idea that he denied the BR contract and went out on his own. I still think it was awful what Heidi did to him. If she was trying to prove a point, she never should have asked him to do it in the first place, you know?
