I'm trying to choose our dining establishments for an upcoming trip, but I'm stuck when it comes to DHS. What is our best bet for a "good" CS place at DHS.....or is there one?

We don't really feel there is one, unfortunately. I'm sure others may disagree. However, we usually go to Pizza Planet (frozen, below average taste, does the job if you're hungry and don't want to leave the park) since my kids love the idea of eating in a Toy Story restaurant. It's filled with video games, though, so sit outside if you want to avoid requests for money to play them.
We went to Starring Rolls for the famous cupcakes during our last visit and they had some sandwiches that looked pretty good. It is definitely worth a trip for the cupcakes!!!

end up at Backlot Express which has the normal burger and hot dog menu. I personally like Studio Catering. It has a limited menu and my kids can't much find they like so we don't usually go.

I enjoy ABC Comissary and the Backlot Express. Other's do not. To each their own :)

We always hit Staring Rolls for breakfast, one of our many family traditions.

DH has toasted bagel,DS has croissant and I LOVE the cinnamon rolls.

Backlot is good for burger, chicken strip kindae stuff.

Starring rolls has great breakfast stuff, and sandwiches that get great reviews for lunch... We also like Pizza Planet.

Tho, our son's favorite place to eat at WDW is the Sci-Fi dine-in, so that is where we usually eat at DHS.

The pastries at Starring Rolls are really good. And I know it doesn't get a lot of good reviews, but I've never had a bad meal at ABC Comissary.

OMG we had lunch at Starring Roles when we were there last Sept for free dining. My DH kept saying this is a hidden gem! You got the pick of one of the sandwiches, a side item, drink and a dessert. It was the best lunch at DHS. We also discovered Kringla Bakeri Og cafe in Epcot (Norway) - same type of lunch as Starring Roles!

Starring Rolls has great sandwiches and desserts. It is run by the people who run the Hollywood Brown Derby.

Also, didn't Fairfax Fare recently change their menu? I think we are going to try there this year.

We hated Pizza Planet. Starring Rolls sounds good. We'll have to try it in September. Where is it located?

(I could get out a map, but am too lazy at the moment! :rolleyes1)

Sounds good! Thanks!

(Don't worry, I'm terrible at directions, too!)

Good CS at DHS does not exist (JMHO) If you must eat at this park then Starring Rolls is average and is the only place I will go to in DHS.

The one that I absolutely will not eat at is ABC Commissary, this is the most horrific dining experience I have ever encountered. I'd rather pack a peanut butter sandwich and eat it in an outhouse than go back to the ABC. :rotfl2:

TOTALLY agree with you about the Commissary. We've tried it a few times over the years and it's always terrible!

Backlot Express is the only Studios CS we'll try. It's..... okay. Basic burgers-- hard to mess up!

Went there in January. A bit disappointed in the meal. Thought it would be like Cosmic Ray's or Flametree, and it wasn't. The portions the day we went were on the small side (maybe not a bad thing), and the ribs were dry. I would give it another try, though. Maybe it was a bad day. But I'd only do it on a dining plan because the prices were high for what I got.

I think I will try Starring Rolls next time, even though I usually prefer something besides a sandwich. But the excellent desserts are very enticing.

Never been to Fairfax, but the first time we went to Flame Tree, my wife thought her ribs were dry. This past trip, she got the pulled pork, and noticed my ribs weren't dry and decided she would have rather had the ribs. :rotfl:

So, maybe it was just an off day, :confused3
