This lady from church was talking about her condo at Disney. That it is right at the fence of Epcot, so they just walk right in and then use Disney transportation while there....even though they aren't supposed to. When I asked if it was DVC, she said no, it was Fairfield! ?? Anyone know what she is talking about?

Probably Bonnett Creek Resort, I think that's a FAirfield, and it is surrounded by Disney property. I heard the transportation isn't very good, but I also don't think it's next to EPCOT, more near CBR?

It is Bonnet Creek Resort and it is Fairfield. Here's the aerial image:

She claims they just walk right into Epcot. You can't walk from there though can you?

It looks like it is probably just a little longer than the complete circle around the World Showcase at Epcot. Probably not something I would want to do on a daily basis, especially at the end of a day at one of the parks.

What is the resort to the left of Bonnett Creek, do you know. Between there and Epcot?

That's Caribbean Beach Resort.

I know the roads in that area, and there is no way anybody could call Bonnet Creek "right at the fence of Epcot". It's at least a mile walk, on roads with no sidewalks and high-volume traffic passing at high speeds.

My guess is that the church lady was confused and remembered things incorrectly. I've heard of people swearing that they rode the monorail from the airport to WDW, of swearing that they stayed in the "hotel inside the castle" (before the current suite was built), and that they stayed at Vero Beach and rode the monorail into the park every day.

Of course, there are condo-style villas in the Epcot resort area - the Beach Club Villas and the Boardwalk Villas. She may have rented points from someone and stayed there.

Or she might have stayed at the Swan or Dolphin, which is not a condo but is also not Disney-owned.

I stay at Bonnet. And although close, its not close enough to walk. Yes you can see spaceship earth from your balcony if you are on the right side. Its absolutely amazing. I cant vouch for transportation, as we drive and our AP holders. But its a ridiculously nice resort. We come "home" for each meal, unless we have a special adr. We LOVe it there.

It is a beautiful resort, we drove through it last time we were there.

As for the church lady, she was bragging about their condo at Disney and how they go there all the time. As I tried to talk to her more about Disney in general I found out she knows very little about it. Obviously not a DISer! LOL!

Took me a good 3/4 times of asking her, for her to tell me the name of her condo community.

We walk around Disney World all the time. There's no way I'd be walking from that resort to Epcot. She didn't mention the extremely busy Buena Vista Drive that she would have to walk along and CROSS? And then she would be either at the Boardwalk or the Swan and still have to walk the Boardwalk to get to Epcot?

Man, we were once walking along the pathway we thought went from the Swan to MGM (duh, it doesn't) and had to go up and over the path and walk a short distance along Buena Vista Drive and we didn't like it at all. Buses flying by, tourists not knowint where they are going. It's taking your life in your own hands.

Heck, I wouldn't even walk from the All Stars to the McDonald's.

Yeah, she didn't realize when she started bragging about her condo at Disney, that she was messing with a DISer! LOL!!!!!!!!

on top of all the other info, there are no "condos" at WDW.....several timeshares but no condos--which in a different animal:cool2:

We just stayed at Bonnet Creek Christmas Week. There is a fence dividing it from Carribean Beach Resort. She may have gone through the fence and taken Disney Transportation from there. Honestly, I have no idea how she would get through that fence.

Bonnet Creek is a great resort and they are adding a new Wyndham hotel, so there will be more restaurants and amenities. We had a great view of the Epcot fireworks, especially from the Presidential Suite on the top floor. I actually thought the shuttle from Bonnet Creek to the parks was pretty good. They had 4 departing times in the morning and 3 or 4 the rest of the day. You did have to reserve a time in advance. We always took a cab on the way back to the resort instead of catching their shuttle.

So how was the presidential suite? I will be staying there for a week in July with my parents and my husband and kids. If I may ask what building and what view shall I ask my parents to ask for? I'd love any info/advise you may think to share. It is getting closer and therefor more real still can't believe we are staying there. It is our first offsite. a bit nervous about that!

We were there Christmas week as well. Did you see the NYE fireworks from Bonnet. We did. We felt surronded by all the park fireworks!
