Is the orbitz/ebates deal no more? Is way.com the way to go?

I've also had some problems with ebates in the past, although most of my credits have posted. Once, I contacted ebates and they said they would credit me for the missing amount, but I had to send in a few things to prove purchase and I decided for that small amount I wouldn't bother. But for this, it will be well over $100, so if there is a problem, I definitely will follow up. I took a screen shot of the confirmation from ebates just in case.

There is evidently a 4 ticket limit, so I had to purchase 1 in a separate transaction. I used ebates for both, so I will update on the percentage back as soon as it posts to my account, usually in a couple of days. Even if it is just 1%, that's 1% better than way.com, so I figured there was nothing to lose.

I've had the same issue with Ebates. Probably 50% of my orders don't show up in my account. What I do is mark my calendar for a few weeks after the order, and go check Ebates. If my order isn't there, I report it to them. And I've never had a problem getting my money.

Please report back, I'm so interested to know how the process with ebates goes. I've used them a lot with no problems, but on such a large purchase it makes me nervous. Did you receive your tickets immediately, and do they have an expiration date?

I did receive the email voucher immediately. There is no exp date, but I just noticed that it has a "valid" date with our trip dates on it. It did ask for the trip dates but that was before I was able to choose "activities," but I didn't think anything of it then. I doubt our dates will change unless there is an emergency, but had I known this would be included I would have called to see if you're locked into those days. Hmnnnn....

This is what I am wondering too

I've purchased tickets through Get Away Today before and they asked for a travel date. I had a change to my travel date, only by a few days, but I called and asked if it would affect my tickets. They told me that it would not be problem, they "only ask for a date to make sure the tickets are in Disney's system at the right time for pick up."

I do think that Disney limits 3rd party ticket sellers to so many tickets per day. With all the fine print on Orbitz site about no changes or modifications, would they be as willing to change dates for you, I just don't know?

Hopefully we won't have to change and I won't have to ask, lol! We will be going on our Mardi Gras break, so it's coming up soon!! First time in CA, so I'm too excited to worry about anything right now :rotfl2:

Tickets from orbitz are up-gradable. Occasionally way.com sells tickets cheaper than their typical tickets that are not up-gradable, but they list that in the fine print. I don't believe they have any of those tickets currently on their site.

THANKS! We are going Thursday - Sunday and plan on upgrading to Deluxe APs but that Saturday is a black out day. Can we use our purchased tickets to get in on that Saturday and then upgrade to deluxe APs on Sunday?

I just got the notification from ebates that my cash back posted, and it is 10%. I had to buy our tickets in two transactions and it's only posted on the lesser one, of course. I'm going to give it another day or so before I call them, hopefully it'll post.

Thanks for reporting back, hopefully you'll see the bigger chuck of cash back post soon:wave:

Ryleeranger- I've never upgraded tickets to AP's, so I'm no expert, but I think that should work. I think as long as you upgrade before the end of your last day you should be fine.

Hope you both have wonderful trips:wizard:

Hi, I'm so glad ya'll posted this about ebates/orbitz. I would have never thought to look there. I just recently learned about way.com and couldn't find anyone beating their prices. We are from NC planning to go CA in June for the first time!! yAY!!

I had some questions about the obitz deal for those who have purchased. I have never had issues with ebates. I bought several things for Christmas and posted like it should have and looking forward to my check. How does purchasing the tickets work? I'm so used to purchasing my tickets to WDW and going through the security and then doing the finger scanner at the turnstile to get into each park. But, at DL I'm hearing a lot about vouchers which is what orbitz would give, so what do you do? Do I have to stand in line to redeem the voucher for tickets or at the turnstile? And do I bring proof for me and my husband? what about our children? We always get to the parks at WDW about an hour before park opening so we can be one of the first to be allowed in then we have to wait for the robe drop then it is fast passed walk to the rides b/c the castmembers try to prevent running. I just don't want to waste time standing in line getting my tickets when I should be in line to get in side of the park to the rides. Does DL do the fingerscanning?
Any help would be appreciated so I'm prepared.
The orbitz deal is great price to get an extra park hopper added on to the already lower price that I have seen anywhere else.
Thanks again!!

If you purchase through Way.com you can take your vouchers directly to the entrance turnstiles.

If you purchase through Orbitz you need to take your vouchers to the ticket booths first, there may or may not be long lines, it just depends. After you exchange them there you can go to the entrance turnstiles.

The Orbitz vouchers say the person redeeming them must have photo ID. I'd be sure to have that handy for all adults anyway since they sometimes ask for it at the gates too.

No finger scan at DL. For most multi day tickets a CM will take your photo and attach it to the ticketing system. They do this right at the entrance turnstile. Yes, it can slow things down, usually not substantially, although it sometimes seems like it, but there's not much you can do about it. The photo should pop up on every subsequent entrance to the parks.

I'm not sure I answered all your questions, but hopefully this helps.

We used our Orbitz tickets on December 9 and still haven't got cash back from ebates. I contacted them last month and have a case opened that is so far unresolved, and I just emailed them again this morning. This is the first time I've had a problem with ebates.

I purchased my tix thru Ebates in the begining of Nov for our nov 17 disneyland trip. I still haven't recieved a credit. I emailed them in Dec, they're researching, still nothing.

I just checked my email. Ebates just informed me they will not be credit any $$ for my $1600 Orbitz transaction:confused3 They are saying Orbitz gave credit to another site. I logged in my Ebates acct, found orbitz from there and bought my tix. So I would beware of the whole Ebates thing. They're also not crediting me for my december purchases.

Yep, me too - I am not happy. My ebates tracking ticket shows that I clicked through and my Orbitz order shows that I checked out 3 minutes later, which was the time it took to enter my information and place my order. I didn't attempt to use any coupons either.

Update - ebates fixed this for me!

I'm so sorry to hear these bad experiences. That is so frustrating:(. I know on the other thread about orbitz/ebates, some other DISers had their problems with cash back from ebates resolved after they posted on their facebook page, it might be worth a try.

It's just so annoying to have to go through all that to get what was rightfully yours:furious:!

This is helpful and thank you for explaining about the ticket and entry process. I assumed that we would have to do finger-scans in the beginning. I"ll make sure that my husband and I both bring our IDs. I"m wondering if I could go to the ticket booth the day before and exchange the vouchers for tickets that way on the day of park we are ready to go and don't have to worry about having a 2 step process of getting in.
I"m not sure If I responded to this thread properly. I"m still learning how to navigate!:)

Gosh, I hate to hear that! I have been using ebates for a few years and they have credited to my account my most recent purchases using ebates, but the check hasnt been mailed yet. My amount pending is listed though. I've never had issues.
Are the tickets from orbitz cheaper than way.com, AAA, or other sites even without ebates discount? orbitz was offering a 4 day pass for price of 3, right? I"ll have to double check. I"m starting to research prices and since my husband is going to the convention for a conference I was hoping that our family could get discounted discounted, but the conference organizer hasn't offered them yet on their site. I'm hoping that orbitz will still be offering their deal for another couple of months.

I'm sorry you're having problems getting the cash back you deserve. I hope things are eventually resolved favorably for both of you.

I want you to know I'm not posting this to make you feel worse, but I think it's only fair to let people know about positive experiences as well, especially when a co is getting pretty universally slammed.

I received my cash back update e-mail and the full 10% was pending in my e-bates account less than 36 hours after my Orbitz purchase.

Again, I'm really sorry things didn't go as smoothly for everyone.

Just bought four 3-day tix yesterday. I got the 4th day free. Paid $1008 for the four of them (two were kids).

Today, already, I got my email from Ebates confirming my $100.80 cash back. $907.20 for four 4-day hoppers!! Saved $200! Pretty ecstatic about that!
