Is the orbitz/ebates deal no more? Is way.com the way to go?

I've never looked into Ebates, what exactly is it and how long does it take to accumulate points/money/whatever you get awarded?

Just got off the phone with a Manager from Ebates, He is going to give me my credit!!:yay: He did explain the actual problem was with Orbitz not reporting the credit to Ebates. But thanks so much for the help, I was going to just give up. I didn't post on their facebook, I called them directly.

That's awesome, ebates really has great customer service!

I have a question, when we book tickets through orbitz, does the voucher come with date?
Why I am asking this is,I am planning to go to disneyland tomorrow, and orbitz is not letting me buy tickets for tomorrow. So can I Buy tickets dated 2nd and 3rd feb and enter the park on feb 1st and 2nd?Will the Orbitz voucher has dated printed on it?
Thanks in advance

I don't believe they have the date printed on them, but the reason they ask for the date is to have them available in disney's computer system at the ticket gates. It's possible they'd be ready for pickup a day early in the system, but honestly, I wouldn't risk it.

Our voucher from last summer had the "bought on" date, and also the "valid dates" for the tickets.

I would not risk buying your tickets from Orbitz if their system isn't allowing the sale.

There were other threads here questioning them. Some people were OK with what they got, but some of the tickets listed are for specific times. I think they are probably a legit company. But its a less known brand and they seem more focused on other areas, so I'm just not up for taking the risk. Orbitz is pretty well known/proven for travel so for a $500+ purchase I feel better there even without the eBates deal (which I did get). For me the Orbitz + Ebates was a better deal than Way.com anyway.

Thanks BayGirl, I appreciate the information.

Can someone walk me through how to buy the park tickets?
I logged into ebates and selected Orbitz. When I get to the Orbitz site I can't figure out how to purchase park tix. Hotels and transportation are clear to me - but the tickes have me stumped
:confused3

I do not recommend buying tickets through Orbitz. We just returned and had no problem getting our park hoppers. HOWEVER our friends who were travelling with us had a horrible time and it is still ongoing 6 days later.

They arrived at the GCH the night before and the front desk couldn't find their Orbitz reservation. They tried everything - this took an hour. Then the front desk told them to come back in the morning and try again. Meanwhile, they called Orbitz that evening and waited on hold forever. Orbitz said they were able to bring the ressie right up and didn't know what the hotel's problem was.

Then that next morning our friends spent over an hour at the front desk and we all missed Magic Morning. It turns out it was Orbitz' fault - they admitted to not pushing the reservation through to Disney. They said they would process a refund and told my friends sorry - have a nice day.

So then our friends had to buy new PH there on the spot from Disney (who did give them FP and also the Orbitz price.)

THEN, they got an email later that day from Orbitz saying that Disney wouldn't give Orbitz the money back for the PH and that my friends were SOL.

They are still working on getting that resolved and getting their original $1000+ refunded.

It still hasn't been resolved. I think they are working with their credit card now to get a refund.

I still don't have my ebates refund from Orbitz. I bought the tickets January 17th and it cleared my credit card on the 19th. When we got back from the trip I opened a Where's my cash back ticket and have had an automated response saying they are looking into it and most get resolved within ten days. So on Friday if it isn't resolved I am going to start posting on the facebook pages of the companies to see if that helps.

I bought Orbitz tickets using Ebates on 1/28, for use in the parks on 1/30-2/2.

Got the email from Orbitz within minutes.

Ebates posted the rebate as "pending" within 48 hours. (We were travelling, so I didn't check until after we arrived). There was no problem with trading in the confirmation email at the ticket booths.

Saved my family over $200! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Fair enough! I totally respect that! :goodvibes

For the record I just checked ebates and my cash from Orbtiz is posted there.

I bought my tickets on Orbitz as well, and the cash back is not posting on Ebates yet, and it has been a week.

Question about the vouchers- where do we have to go to trade them in for real tickets? A ticket booth, or just the turnstiles to go into the park?

We were able to trade our vouchers for tickets when checking in at Paradise Pier.

Watch ebates and if it doesn't post soon, post something on their facebook page.

AmyG: We took them straight to a ticket booth. They exchanged them for tickets with no problems.

I just booked on Way.Com.

I got two adult and one child 5 day parkhoppers for $809. That's a $70 savings.

Then I called Disney directly and gave them my confirmation number, and they said yes, valid transaction, tickets are good.

It was the best deal I could find, and I looked at aRes and TicketsAtWork.

So, do you have to somehow link your Orbitz and ebates account?

Or do you:

1. Go to Ebates, sign in and click on orbitz link
2. Sign in on Orbitz and place order
3. All is well in the world.

LOL I just don't want to do it wrong and miss out on $100+ cash!
