Is the cookie making booth still open in the Land? My kids would like to do it again...

I believe it is open again, when we were there on May 6th, it looked ready to go and had the times posted.

Cookies...Baking?? Epcot?? Details Details..

WHere in the Land, what do you do?

Hey If I can find something My kids would like doing in Epcot, Im all for it!!

In the foodcourt downstairs in the Land (hopefully still there) there is a Junior Chef booth. There are times posted - I believe it was every hour on the hour from like noon to 5 or something.

The kids get chef hats and can bake Nestle Choc Chip cookies, there are two adults there to help them mix the ingredients and put them on the cookie sheet. Then they put them in the magic oven that bakes them in like a minute and the kids get to take home 2 of the cookies that they made.

Is it free??? Do you have to sign up to do it?

it's absolutely free. You just show up. They can hold about 10-15 kids at one time. It's quite fun for the younger set. Each kid gets to put in an ingredient to make the cookies, then they each get a turn to drop it on the cookie sheet. The CM guide takes the cookie sheet to the "magic oven" for 2 minutes.

Then she/he comes back and each kid gets 2 cookies, a small container fo chocolate chips and they get to take their chef's hat with them.

My kids love doing this - it's a nice respite from the heat, it's funny, they get cookies and it's FREE! :teeth: What's not to love?

My dd's (3 & 6) and niece (11) enjoyed it. I would think your 7 year olds would like it. It is definately geared more toward younger kids. The cookies that they give out at the end are really good.

I was just there this week. The 1st baking session is at 12:30pm. There is an age limit, ages 4-12. Make sure to get there early! Kids were lined up at 11:45am and they only have room for 10-12 children. My little one wanted to join in on the fun, but she is only 2 1/2 and I had to explain to her that she was too little to bake cookies :guilty:

Ooohhh fun! We're going in July with two of my husband's brothers and their families. We'll have several small children with us and they'll love this. Funny, I've seen this area before and had no idea that's what they were doing. :teeth:

Thank you to everyone else for the info I'll have to look for it in August. My twins would love this.

writing that one down for my not quite 10 yr old she will love it and only will be disappointed that her sister is not quite old enough to do this.

Is the age 4 now? I was thinking that it was 3-12. That would be helpful before I mention it to DD on our big family trip.

I asked the CM at the Kidcot station upstairs next to the Garden Grill and she said ages 4-12. But you never know, sometimes the CM's have different information :confused3

What do they do with the rest of the cookies? I'm hoping they give the extras out to WDW employees as my sis (a former CM) told me they used to take turns running over to the Land after lunch just to get cookies for the rest of the crew. According to her, they had the best Toll House around :)

My 7 and 10 year old love this! We always talk about them doing Grand Adventures in Cooking but they have so much fun at Junior Chef and it's free! The cookies they get are all soft and yummy! I really think a lot of people just don't know about it. Definitely a well kept secret! Shhh..... ;)

My kids loved it last year. I had a 3 year old and an 8 year old. Its definately for younger kids, teens would think it is "lame".

Its a nice break before lunch time or just after lunch time or just when you happen to be in the Land for rides.
