Is the liviing vine still at AK?

Oh - that was the coolest thing I saw all day at AK last week. Her name is DeVine. She walked right toward our family to an open space near a pole, then wrapped herself around it. We wouldn't have even noticed her if not for the handler directing people around her.

DeVine was the high point of my 2.5 yo's trip to AK (can't explain it). She still talks about her, and keeps the "leaf" DeVine gave her, too.

Wow, she looks awesome. I can't believe we've never seen her. When and where can she be found? Does she talk? What does she do?

Can you imagine wearing that costume when it is 95 degrees and 90% humidity in Orlando?? I hope we see her on our trip!

She does not speak (at least not to us ) and she moves about on stilts--it is awesome. We found always found her on the thick green path to Tusker house. She would blend into the greenery, then BAM! all of sudden she would awake and move toward some unsuspecting person who was half-dazed from the heat or distracted. Along with my DH, I saw also grandpa startled too. He couldn't stop laughing when he realized what had happened and the audience that had seen it too!

We saw her last Saturday in AK-Africa buy the drums. There is a back gate and she came out of there. She was so cool to see.

I am determined to see Devine this trip! (Leaving in 4 days! ) I have looked for her before, but no luck. I see Steve Soares site has times that she will be out, but it doesn't say where....if I ask a CM will they be able to tell me where to look for her?

I never knew DeVine is not a Disney employee...they really just hire her out to be in the parks, she has her own website, does other "characters" besides DeVine and appears at other places besides Disney! Her website is pretty cool.

I've just gotta find her this time!
