Is the level of service the same?

Do you feel you are treated different as a DVC owner at a shared property?

  • No, I recieve the same level of service/room location as Disney guests paying top dollar.

  • Yes, I feel there is a difference in service, room location or other area.

  • I have never noticed.

I am going to admit something on this post that I never have before....okay here it goes (zips up flame suit)!

Disney service is hit or miss at best. For superior service, visit PBH. Every stay there we are treated like royalty. But Disney is Disney. We love Disney, and are in it for the long haul. Love the resorts, yes all of them. But service? There are great moments, and bad moments. It averages it out to above average, but by no way superior. We go expecting above average to average service, and are not surprised or disappointed.

I do feel that we are a captured audience so to speak. It doesn't help that some *of us* go down there expecting the world served to us on a silver platter----and have meltdown's when are expectations are not met. We got bad reputations, and a honest CM will tell you that. I think some of the shab's in service are the CMs just plain wore out trying to make everything "perfect" and being blasted when perfection doesn't happen.

To the OP, the best advice is to enjoy DVC, and make the magic happen for your family. Good luck and wish you many many enjoyable trips. :)

We've stayed at BWV, VWL & Vero Beach. Wonderful service! We'll be staying at HHI in May and BCV in June. I hope we can expect the same level of service at these resorts.

Oh, the only "Welcome Home" was at Vero Beach. Anybody have any ideas why that could be???

Happy "magical" vacationing,
Tom :sunny:

Yes at times I do.

I feel we get more attention as members at the stand alone resorts than the attached ones. I actually had a CM once when I was checking in comment: Oh you're a Member thought you were a Guest and give me an odd look.

I won't mention which of the 3 resorts as it serves no purpose. The person probably does not even work there anymore. If I am going to stay at the BC/YC, WL, or BW, I stay in the nonDVC section.

We also got more Welcome Homes at the full DVC resorts.

Sammie- i'm confused. You said you stay in the non dvc sections at the mixed resorts? Do you use more points that way, or is it an option to use the same amount of points and stay in the non DVC section?

We don't use our points for those stays, we pay cash. We almost always stay at DVC on points and a deluxe resort on cash during our trips. We love the Yacht Club. Using points would not be good value for us.

Okay I get it now Sammie, thanks for clarifying.

I don't know if I have just been fortunate or not, but I have never had a bad experience at any WDW resort. I have not always had all my requests met, but I tend to not get worked up at WDW. (Now home is another matter)

Canwegosoon, I agree with you that they should have offered some type of reimbursement or replacement for the damaged clothing. It pretty sad that all that was said to you was that a sign should have been put up. I hope you are able to get that resolved, but I don't know how much luck you will have from home.

Do I think you're too sensitive? Probably. But I hope that didn't ruin your vacation.

Thanks...I know I am a little on the sensitive side-and that's why I said nothing, and did try to do my best at having a great Vacation, which we did...but I just think next time I am going to make more room requests based on my experience. As I mentioned I tend to be over-critical ...and I am trying to moderate it. :goodvibes

What is PBH? I think we are all entitled to our opinion, and all of us have different experiences. Thanks for the good wishes.

I think that, as you've said above, you were probably a little over sensitive here.

The first two questions in your poll refer to room location, but I don't get what the point of the question is...of course the room locations are different for DVC compared to the hotel, it's a different part of the building. I appreciate that you might not have had what you felt was the best room, but it was a DVC room, and somebody had to have it.

The issue with the shirt, again, doesn't have any relation to DVC, and could have also happened to someone staying at the hotel.

On the orientation side, I wonder if they just assume that you have been there before if you are staying at DVC (which would be wrong to do).
