Is the Free Dining deal the best around right now?

Howdy,

We're planning a trip to WDW for the end of September. We played around with the online stuff and looks like we can get a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids, one is only 2 so he's free) in the All Star Music resort for 7 nights and 7 day tickets for around $1555 with the quick service dining plan.

We upgraded to the Plus (1/1/1) dining plan and the total came to $1707

Tried some other options like the reduced rate rooms and then adding the dining but that came out even more.

We are also AAA members so I'm not sure if that gets us another discount on top of that but wanted to see if I'm missing anything or if that's about as good as we're going to get for right now.

Thanks for any help!!

I priced it out on the WDW site and this is what I got:

Your $1707 is correct

don't forget to look at the cost of insurance if you want it. also, keep in mind the tips for the TS meals and quite possibly the cost of more meals since the DDP is one counter service, one table service, and one snack per day. We had free dining on our last trip and we spent at least $40 a day on extra food. Also, if you are going to do the DDP, you may want to make some reservations for the restaurants you would like to go to, as they tend to book up quickly.

I think that this is the best price for your family for staying onsite. You cannot "stack" discounts. Disney makes you pick one.

Well we booked it in the POP. They only had the "preferred" rooms available so it was a tad more but still a good deal. Now we just have to wait 2 months to start the fun. :)

Since you will be there during the height of free dining you need to make your advance dining reservation A.S.A.P. The parks won't be too crowded, but the restaurants will be packed and will most likely not even be taking walk up reservations. Some of the popular character meals and restaurants may already be booked up, so I would get on line and see what is available for your dates.

Definitely make your dining reservations now. It is getting quite late to book ADR's. Also, if you don't get a time you like, go back and check on a regular basis. If someone cancel's and ADR, yuo can pick up their time.

Yep, that's what we're doing every day. We have most things down except for a breakfast or two we'd like to have. Seems no one wants to go to the Handy Manny one since that one is available almost every day. ;)
