Is the DP the only thing that would require a package purchase?

Right now I'm wondering if I should pre-purchase tickets through the Mousesavers/UT link (particularly before any rate increases in August).

However, is it likely that they could release a 2011 discount (either PIN or general public) that would require you to purchase tickets? I'm pretty sure that the DP (either free or if you're paying for OOP) requires a package purchase. Would that be the only thing? Room only discounts don't require you to purchase tickets, right?

What about those discounts they've had in the past like the gift cards or 4/3 -- did those require tickets?

I'm just worried about pre-purchasing the cheaper UT tickets only to have to return them for a fee because of a package that might require me to buy tickets. I doubt we'll do the DP next year, so I know I won't need a package for that reason.

I hope this made sense! LOL

We did the 4/3 special July 2009, and it was a package deal and required park tickets. I have no knowledge or comments about what may be offered next year, but yes, specials other than DDP have required ticket purchase in the past.

Room only discounts don't require ticket purchase - that's why they're called room only. :goodvibes They're room only as opposed to a package. Room only reservations also have more liberal cancellation policies and don't require pre-payment before the time of the trip.

4/3 did have ticket purchase requirements. The most recent time it was offered the requirement was actually minimum 4 day MYW tickets. I believe that the gift card deal also had ticket requirements. This is the main reason I tell people not to prepurchase their tickets. Annual rate increases aren't much but having to buy 2 sets of tickets and have one set sit in a drawer is a lot of money to put out.

Thank you both for your responses. I'm glad my question made sense.

And thank clanmcculloch for putting it in perspective. I don't think I'll order the tix this far in advance.
