Is the courtyard view worth it at WL?

What exactly do you look at (Besides a courtyard) with the courtyard view?
I have never been to WL but plan on staying there this summer. Is the courtyard the pool area or the falls I keep seeing pic's of?

thanks

The courtyard view is definitely worth it! You have a view of the main pool with all its beautiful landscaping, the geyser, the bay and old Discovery Island. From your balcony you can see ther Electrical water parade, the birds circling to roost at night on Discovery island, the boats arriving and departing.

I guess you can tell that I love it. You cannot see any other hotels or parks so you really feel that you are some place else.

We have stayed at the WL three times and get the MK woods view on purpose. From there you can see the fireworks at MK and we enjoy watching the otters play in the otter pond. We go down to the beach for the Electric Water Parade. The main reason we have picked the woods view is because our children are grown and we just figured it would be quieter. I think it is more or less what you want to see. But no matter where you stay the WL is beautiful!

I even like the standard view at WL... it has the best cheap views of all the resorts IMHO... if you need to save a few bucks, you'll still get a good view!!

TheWho,

I agree with your sentiments...we are booked for a courtyard room later in May. It was the only view we could get with a discount. Having never stayed there, I am not sure whether it is worth the extra $ or not, but we don't really have a choice. I can't figure out what to ask for--if one area of the courtyard is better or not. I just don't want a lot of noise or a dark room that gets no sunlight. A view of the lagoon would be nice, but it seems like in the courtyard you are just looking at the pool and across to the other rooms on the other side.

I will just have to figure it all out when I get there! Sometimes setting expectations somewhat low is a good thing!

You won't be sorry that you got a courtyard view- just be sure you ask for a view of the main courtyard! We were there for the 1st time in Nov. and absolutely loved it. It was extrememly relaxing and wonderful to see.

We had a main courtyard view on our trip in Dec. 2000, and though it was pretty, I don't think I would do it again. We heard a lot of noise from the pool area one morning, and I think a woods view would help immerse you in the "ambience" more. Just my 2 cents! :)

A courtyard view is either a view of the main courtyard, pool and lagoon OR a view of the courtyard the the VWL! We didn't know this until we got there last Dec. I was looking forward to the main courtyard view and watching the lightshow from our balcony and was a little disappointed. We finally got bunkbeds for the kids though so I didn't have the heart to move them! We have stayed at the WL 4 times (so far;) ) and each time had a different view...each one was great! Don't get too bogged down about this one. There are no "bad" views at the WL!! Have a wonderful time!!

I stayed at WL in May of 2000. We had courtyard view. It does get alittle noisy at times, so I would just ask upon check -in to be further away. If you are smack in front of the pool area then I think you might be disappointed.

Personally I loved the view and would do it again. WL is so relaxing.

Thanks for your replies. Since I was getting an AP rate, I decided to go for the courtyard view.
I'm looking forward to the boat to MK. I have two kids (6 & 2) that love MK. I'm hoping this is a nice perk.

The boat is a nice perk! Very peaceful and pretty ride. When we were there in Dec., the WL shared a boat with the campground. This was new to us but not bad...just a couple of minutes longer.
