Is the 22% service charge on room service the tip?

There is a 22% service charge and a $3.00 hotel fee added on to the room service order. Is that the tip? Do you still tip on top of that? DH and I do not agree. What do you think?

Yes, that is the tip.

I don't think that is the tip so I tip on top of that.

If it is a tip, it would say gratuity.
 

The "service charge" includes the tip, but the "hotel fee" doesn't. The actual % the delivery person gets would be part of the hotel's policy - which you could ask about when you place your order or at the front desk when you check in.

This is for the US - for other countries, it will vary.
 
i thought hotel tipping questions were off limits. People get pretty heated when you tell them Why tip? a clean room is what you are paying for!

This is for room food service, a question not covered elsewhere.

I typically ask the person delivering so that I know for sure and they know I recognized it.
