Is TeppanEdo Disney affiliated?

The OP asked a specific question, which has not been entirely answered yet this thread has become one to complain about or pat TE on the back. OP, I would suggest calling Disney and asking them how you can get in touch with management at TE to express your concerns. I am sure somewhere there should be able to help you. You might have a speak to several people but at least you won't get people going off on a tangent.

that's what OP should have done in the first place if they didn't want to have other posters opinions. It's not that hard to pick up the phone for Disney Dining. I would be the first person to tell you the glaring problems with some of the restaurants. I had problems with Kona, but you didn't see me on here asking other posters unless that's what I would want. Instead I called Disney and dealt with the problem directly.

Wow. That's why I asked if TE is a Disney restaurant, or, basically, one that rents space from Disney. We tried to deal with the issue while there....to no avail.
I have eaten at TE before....I am fully aware how it works. There was another guest with allergy issues at at table....evidently her issues weren't nearly as extensive as our friend's issues. They couldn't do enough for her.
I wish I had remembered Kimonos....that would probably have worked out much better.
Thanks for all your insights. Our friend can deal with it herself. She paid the bill, she's the one that had bad service. I was merely trying to find out who owns the darn place.

I'm not sure what opinion you offered that was helpful in any way. Your opinion seems to be that they properly portion the food. But in the OP's experience that was not the case. Not sure how telling her you didn't have the same problem helps in any way.

I'm sorry to hear this happened, but what may have seemed like a little, you have to take in consideration that Japanese and other Asian servings are not like N. American servings. They eat a lot less.
They definitely do not. Asian portion sizes are enormous.

Yes, sushi was offered. It was quite plainly on the menu. This young woman has dealt with her issues, on her own, for the past three years. She researched restaurants at WDW, sending me a list of the places she should have been able to safely eat. She fully understood what was on the menu at TE. She merely asked if she could have only two of the four types of sushi offered, and to have it prepared on a 'clean' surface. She was told that they could not do that....she would have to take it as shown I the menu.
I'm really surprised at some of the responses here. We did everything right. The restaurants were researched, we had the extreme allergies noted in the ADRs, we noted it, again, when checking in. We spoke to chefs. We ate at no restaurants that I hadn't eaten at before. We left plenty of time for each meal.
The restaurant just dropped the ball. We should have gotten up and left, but we really didn't want to make a scene. I've been to WDW more than 40 times, I know what I'm doing.

A lot of people on these boards ask questions that could easily be answered by calling Disney or looking on their website or doing a simple search of the internet. The OP isn't any less entitled to ask a question here than anyone else. The OP certainly wasn't looking for people to attack.
