Is splitting still allowed?

We have always done the dining plan and have always split meals on it but I recently read somewhere that splitting meals is no longer allowed for dining plan guests. Can anyone tell me if this is true or if there are certain restaurants where this is the case? The only way the dining plan works for us is if we can share meals.

The only place that is consistently noted for not allowing DDP guests to share plates is Beaches & Cream.

Thanks for answering me. Some specific places I am interested in knowing about are Chef De France because it did not really appeal to us but ds wants to meet Remy. Tonys town square is another place that is okay for food but dd loves the atmosphere there. Planet Hollywood and Sci Fi were others we were thinking of doing but would never order full meals there for lunch. We just do not need that much food.

We went in early January and dd (5) and I split adult meals at 9 Dragons in EPCOT and also at Wolf Gang Puck Cafe without any problem. We also let Ds (disney adult) have dd's child's meal so we saved the adult credit for later.

The waiter at WGPCafe DID seem a bit miffed and wasn't quite as friendly after he realized we'd only be ordering 3 meals.

The waiter at 9 Dragons didn't seem to have any problem with it and even brought out an extra plate for us and gave us extra spoons for the dessert. We left a larger tip for him based on what we would have paid if we ordered the extra meal.

We;ve split many times and never had a problem. Even at Beaches and Creme... :confused3 I'm sure that waiters are miffed because they see $$$ when people walk in. It's like when we say no we don't want dessert even though it's included. They become very high pressure about just taking it to go if we don't want it now. They seem annoyed by this lack of extra spending.

You cannot split meals at buffets, all you can eat family style restaurants, fixed price restaurants (CRT and Akershus), or dinner shows. Anywhere else, yes. Have seen a number of reports that Beaches & Cream will not allow dining plan guests to split entrees but it is allowed if you are not on the plan. Some guests also say they were allowed to split meals there on the plan. So there's no way to know exactly what you will encounter there.

Well I hope it is not a problem, because I plan on splitting a few meals with my son. There is no way we could each eat an appetizer, entree, and dessert for lunch. Not without a wheelbarrow!
