Is Spectromagic worth changing my plans?

I planned a good portion of my late Sept trip b4 the hours came up. Spectromagic will only take place once during the week I am there & it is on the same day I planned to go to MGM for Fantasmic. I really wanted to see Spectro & was hoping it would be the same day I planned to see WIshes, but in the immortal words of Mick Jagger "you can't always get what you want"! Do I try to rearrange things just to see Spectro or can it wait until a future trip?
Thanks for any advice,
Erin

If you'd be giving up Fantasmic to see Spectro, then I would not do it. IMO, Fantasmic is far better than Spectro. If you could arrange it so that you would get to do both, then it would be worth the effort to do that, plus you get the joy of replanning - all part of the fun of going to WDW! Have fun!

Definately rearrange to do both...while I love fantasmic...i also love spectro

You cannot miss the Fantasmic Show for Spectromagic.....we've been to both several times...the Spectromagic Parade thru the MK is absolutely magical and stunning...but Fantasmic is a show you will never forget....it's just an unbelievably creative, awe-inspiring display of imagination.....we usually do dinner at Mama Melrose beforehand and get priority seating at Fantasmic....a couple of restaurants at MGM participate in this priority seating deal...(I think the Brown Derby does, too)....anyway, do enjoy ....

:wave2:

If you can rearrange your schedule to see both Fantasmic and Spectromagic, definitely do so. It will be worth the extra effort of replanning to work in both. While we love Fantasmic, we also love Spectromagic, and I don't think we would choose seeing Fantasmic if it meant missing Spectro. You'll hear all kinds of opinions on which one to choose if you can only do one, so hopefully you'll be able to rearrange things to do both. :D

OK - just found hours posted on disney.com. I looked last night and they still weren't posted.

Are the official hours posted somewhere now? I just looked and the DIS hours still show projected.

Anxiously awaiting the hours myself, for planning purposes, of course.

I'd try and rearrange your schedule to do both. Fantasmic and Spectro are 2 of my favorites. I love the music (have both CD's). I get teary watching both "shows."

Personally I would def try to rearrange to do both. I adore SPECTROMAGIC, I usually cry my way through it! It is one of the highlights of my trip!!

Love Verity.xxxx:wave:

Try to arrange both. They are both wonderful! If I had to pick one over the other, my personal favorite is Spectro. It gives me chills and always brings a tear to my eye. Every time I see it I wonder how long it will be before I see it again (or IF I'll ever see it again). To me it's pure magic. Fantasmic is a one of a kind too. Hope you can arrange both! Good luck.

I am also going in late September and was able to find the hours for MK, Epcot, AK, BB and TL on disney.com, but I haven't been able to find hours for MGM, DTD, PI, parades, fireworks, spectro, etc... Could someone please direct me in the right direction? I'd like to be able to make PS arrangements, but I need to know park hours first ;) Thanks!

PS: I wouldn't miss Spectromagic for the world ;) JMO

Another vote for BOTH if possible!! Choosing one over the other, I'd see Fantasmic! Don't forget to look into the dinner package though!

I'd also try to rework your schedule so that you could see both. They are both wonderful! Could you do another day for MGM Fantasmic and plan on seeing WISHES and Spectro on the same night?

OK, I was a die-hard MSEP fan. Cry every time I listen to the soundtrack and swore I would never like Spectromagic because it just wasn't the same.

Now after all these years MSEP seems so far away, and I have given in to Spectromagic, and yes, now it makes me cry like a baby every time I see it. I play the soundtrack in my car when I'm "homesick" for the world and cry like a baby driving down the road!!!

This was a long way of saying - - don't miss the parade!! Fantasmic is wonderful also if you can do both I would.

Wow... reading all these posts, I'm glad I'm not the only one who cries watching the parades/shows!!

Who else cries walking up Main Street for the first time on a trip?
