I didn't see SOARIN mentioned anymore on the web site--I had heard rumors it was not going to be there after December but as popular as it was I was hoping it would still be there. We will be at WDW in March and I am disappointed if it is gone!
Please, please say it isn't true. That was one of my favorite rides when we were there in 2005. We are heading back in 121 days (not that I am counting) and we are all looking forward to riding it again.
I am SO GLAD to know it is still there...but I was on the WDW website and checking out EPCOT and I didn't see it mentioned, but maybe it was my oversight. But I also have a friend who is an annual passholder and she had told me that this attraction was only on loan and she had heard that this past December would be the last month. But I'm glad that it's not because it is one of my family's favorite rides!!
Most definetly not a "thrill ride" .. just a gentle hang gliding feel... basically a IMAX movie with seats that move to make you feel like you are flying...
hard to see that they would get rid of it anytime soon.. I mean they spent millions to build it on as an addition to the land pavilion.. new buildling, walkways and everything.
As a former Soarin' flight attendant let me say ... ROFL LOL!!!
Soarin' has the highest rating of any WDW attraction ever. Additionally, it is still the busiest ride in all of the parks.
I have no idea where you heard this rumor but it is incredibly, unbelievably untrue. The attraction was "given" to WDW by DL. Why would they shut down or even change the most successful attraction in Disney history?
my husband thinks they should make several movies, so that each time you ride it, you can soar over different places. I think this would be awesome, but probably never going to happen.
The film tends to deteriorate over time (after all, there are about 100 showings a day) but it is replaced as necessary. Each roll of an HD IMAX film, though, is incredibly expensive.
