So due to a very impromptu trip, I only have about 4 weeks to go.

My hubby brought some shares yesterday but obviously we are 2 weeks short of the recommended wait for the card (I knew we should have brought some in the Autumn :rolleyes1).

Has anyone managed to get their cards any sooner??

I hope so - four weeks today until I go and I only faxed my application yesterday! There is a post somewhere from last November from someone saying they received a temporary e-mail within a week and the card within three weeks so fingers crossed! I did put a note on saying when I was departing and that I would appreciate it a bit quicker.

The good news is that I've alreeady made 80p on my shares!

Give it a couple of weeks for the shareholders club to get back to you, if you've not had your cards through the post by then (due to the timescales involved) call them in French office hours and ask them for a temporary letter. They'll send this by email which you can print off and use in DLP, until your permanent card comes through the post :).

It only too about 2 to 3 weeks for mine to come. I suppose it depends how busy they are.

Excellent news! We thought we give this a go rather than going for Half Board vouchers. Hopefully it will give us a bit more flexibility.

i don't want to be all "Doomand Gloom" but my card took 8 weeks to arrive :scared1: i phoned to query where it had got to and they asked if i was travelling soon if so they would email me a temporary card to use. it took quite a while to get through on the phone and i kept trying at different times during the day but did eventually get through, don't forget France is an hour ahead of us. hope it turns up ok xx

Thanks Tinkerbellsmum. Best to have both sides of the story! If they can send a temporary cards that allows us get the dining discounts, that would be great. Salon Mickey would just be an extras bonus :) We know we late applying so it not their fault if it not here on time.

Do you have a fax machine to hand at work or at home? I brought shares and had about 2 weeks before trip, we called the shareholders line and were able to negotiate that if I faxed my details they would fax a temp letter that would allow me to get my benefits anyway : ) litterally got it the day before we were due to go too!

the shareholders club staff can easily email you the temporary letter and you just print it off - they did it this way for me while I was on the phone to them :).

I've had an e-mail though confirming my membership, has anyone ever used that as a "temporary card"?
