I got the free trial acct of 10MB but plan to upgrade to the 500 if I like it. But over the last two days I've tried to upload several 3MB pics and I'm getting the "page cannot be found" nonsense. I am able to upload a 1MB, but not the 3. Is there a limit to size? If I upgrade will that take care of this problem? I don't want to compromise the quality of my pics. TIA!

you can also get a free trial for zenfolio, which I use and like a lot, I just opened a second account for my stepdaughter who is in Italy for a semester..

the one reason I prefer zenfolio over smugmug is that I can order my prints from ezprints or mpix...otherwise they are pretty much the same..

smugmug only uses ezprints

I used pbase for several years back in the early 2000's. I finally outgrew it's space limits and moved on to Smugmug. I'm happier there.

yes, I prefer black also I think it makes the pics stand out more..feel free to check mine out...

you can create groups which then hold individual galleries. you can password prtect individual galleries, or use one password for the whole group...

I just send people the link for the individual group, or my friends and family just know to check my site regularly since I usually am shooting at least once a week...

you can also let people know this way...


Sending out Invitation to a GroupOnce your group is created, it is assigned a direct link (URL) that will remain until the group is deleted. Changes to the group name or description, moving the group to another group, or moving more items into the group will not change the link address.

Therefore, you can send out a nicely formatted invitation e-mail to the group at any time.

To send a link:

Click to select the group in the Organizer or double-click it in the Main Area to open. The content of the group will load in the Main Area and the name of the group will display at the top.
Select Send Invite next to group title in the Top Menu. A new window will open with a form to fill out including destination e-mail addresses and message body. A sample message is provided but you can change it at any time. Please confirm that a group is open for visitors to view and is not access-protected. If it is password-protected, do not forget to include the password in the invitation.

You can also Copy and Paste the link at the top of the window and use to send separately.

I got a free trial but once again it's not letting me upload my pics. I tried one that was 3MB and one that was 1MB. Neither would load. Are yours smaller than that?

some are smaller, becasue I sometimes downsize for speed and to force people to contact me for the full size file,, I don't sell anything I just like to know where my pics are going..

I've never had problems uploading, unless I'm doing it from a network and the network is busy, that's why I opened the zenffolio account for my stepdaughter, I also have a fotki account and that does give me upload problems..

you are using jpeg..???

hmm I just started an upload out of curiosity, and it does seem slow right now, I usually do my uploads at night when there is less traffic..
