Depends on what time of October you want to go! AVOID the first 2 weeks:

OC kids on year round schools have those first 2 weeks off
Gay Days
Columbus day

Things should clear out around the 15th.

I had just started a thread about Columbus day. I am so glad I found this thread. I will start planning our October trip for later in the month. I knew there were some other "activities" happening in Oct. but I couldnt remember.

we went during Gay Days a couple of years ago... NEVER AGAIN. It was incredibly crowded. So crowded you absolutely could not move during the fireworks etc. We have never been there when it was soooooooooo crowded. Fair warning
