I just heard tonight the new hurricane was near Port C where the Wonder and Magic leave and return. Anyone know how it is affecting the ships?

Saturday's Magic is up in the air right now. We'll know tomorrow afternoon whether is Port Canaveral or Ft. Lauderdale.

Good Morning from the Magic!!!

We are headed to CC and hopefully we will be able to dock.

I just checked the DCL website and there is no new info about the debarkation port for us.

Captain Thord announced yesterday in his noon "briefing" that he will keep us updated regarding debarkation.

Will post again in a few hours after we are docked (thinking positive) at CC.

We just got off the Wonder yesterday in Port Everglades. A big thumbs up to DCL as it was very organized. The ride back to the port (to pick up our car) was not bad at all (yes it was 3 plus hours but still not too bad). When we got to the port and saw the water just on the inlet water way you could see why they opted to sail out of Ft. Lauderdale.

Is it imperative to know ahead of time where the ship is sailing out of? We're going to be on the 9/11 Wonder cruise, but we're travelling to Jekyll Island (off the southern coast of GA) tomorrow and I don't know if we'll have internet access at our hotel. Is there a phone number we can call? We have to leave our car at Port Canaveral no matter what, right? So I guess we just get there as early as we can and hope for the best?

Yes, it is imperative to know where the ship is sailing out of.....if it sails from Ft. Lauderdale instead of Port Canaveral you may be able to meet the ship in Ft. Lauderdale and not PC....if the weather is bad enough DCL will not have you go to PC first to park your car and pick up buses, but pick buses up at the airport or WDW. Or you could drive yourself to Ft. Lauderdale. Last year with hurricane Jeanne they evacuated all of the Port Canaveral area (hotels, restaurants, etc.) so we needed to take buses from WDW to Ft. Lauderdale to meet the Magic...

Call DCL and make sure they have your cell number in case they need to get in touch with you. I would also call them periodically to check what is happening.

The number to call is 1-800-WDW-CRUIse. They have a recording with the same information as on the website.

I live about an hour from the port and the latest weather update, 10 minutes ago said that Ophelia is headed out to sea, however it's suppose to turn back inland on sunday or monday, just like hurricane Jeanne did last year. They dont know where it will hit. They just said anywhere from Cocoa Beach to the Carolina's. The expect it to have about 85MPH winds when it turns back towards land. So everyone will just have to keep checking with the cruise lines for the next few days.

You can follow the storm updates at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/, it is updated at least three times a day.

Current track shows landfall in either Georgia or South Carolina around Thursday or so.
