Hi..I would love some opinions on my first full day at disney. Having never been before ,its hard to know if Iam being too optimistic in my planning.
we are going in august..22nd-29th so I know how important breaks from the heat will be...especially as we are coming from England and will probably have a touch of jet lag as we are 5hrs ahead here.

we arrive on a monday night so my 1st day is the 22nd a tuesday...heres the plan.
:)
have quick breakfast in room and get to MK for opening. Leave at 1pm to monorail to GF for the wonderland tea party for DD6. Dh, ds13 and I will relax in the GF for the hour, or perhaps get a bite to eat at GF food court.
After tea party we will head back to our hotel wilderness lodge, we will probably get back after 3pm. Then we will relax/swim till our ADR at chef mickey at 6pm. After dinner we will either go to MK for spectro or if too tired ride the monorail a bit and then go back to WL.

So what do you think? Is it realisitic, too planned? Or does it sound OK.

That sounds fine to me. I always find my first few days at WDW I tend to wake up early due to the time difference, I'm usually wide awake by 6am. You should have no problem getting up and getting to the MK for opening.

I think it sounds fine. You have left yourself ample time for getting around.

How are you planning on getting from WL to Chef Mickey's? I'm assuming take the bus to MK, then get on the monorail, right?

If I were to give a first-time visitor any advice about making a schedule, I would stress how long it takes to get from one place to another - especially from one resort to another. Fortuately, there is a solution - taxis!

It wasn't until my last trip to WDW that I realized there were taxis waiting in front of every resort. (Since I never use the front entrance once I check in, I've never seen them...). Now it's so easy to get to another resort for dinner!

Also, if you have a large group going, keep in mind the van-sized taxis don't cost any more than the sedan-sized.

Have a wonderful trip, and remember to relax. Don't feel the need to cram everything in this trip!

If you find yourselves too tired after Chef M's, you could always go sit in the hot tub at watch fireworks from there....

We contemplated a taxi near the end of our trip but we were running a little short on cash...you know how Disney can be! Draining of the wallet. Wondering, what kind of prices did you find the taxi to be?

I seem to remember that we paid between $7 and $10 each taxi ride, and that included a generous tip.

There is a boat from WL to the Contemp that would be the quickest way to get there; you can find out form the hotel desk how often the boat runs.

You've planned you time frames, now plan the park. What are you going to ride first?

After that, do the same thing for the rest of the days...

August is horribly hot, so keep water with you all the time and drink it alot.

Thanks everyone for the great advice :thumbsup2

Its good to have people with experience of timings and such give approval so I know iam not being over optimistic. :sunny:

I've actually joined tour guide mike so Ihave a ggod plan sorted out for which rides to hit first. I just wasn't sure weather to bother with the Alice wonderlandtea party at 1.30pm.
If I book this we will defo have to leave MK at about 12.40. Whereas if I leave it we have the freedom to stay longer. That is the predicament to me.
I want to be structured BUT not too structured.
