Is MM wasted on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage?

I agree with everyone here who would NOT waste MM on Nemo.

But let's suppose the OP & others reading have the following trip planned:

- One MM available.
- 3 days in the park (& of course will park hop each day :thumbsup2)
- Will be at DL for opening on MM & on one other day.
- Will be there for closing at DL on the other day.

QUESTIONS:

- When would one one want to do Nemo (for the one time you'd want to ride it)?

- When would you want to ride the (far superior imo) Storybookland Canal Ride TWO different times (once at night & once during the day)?

(I'd love opinions based on the above 3 day criteria. The reason i ask, is that these two rides are "odd ducks" from a tourning perspective....slow loaders & not in a normal touring pattern.)

I'm guessing Nemo the last 5 min. of MM (with a runner nabbing SM FPs at the same time) or near the end of the "late night". & Storybookland, I'm guessing once during the "late night" & again maybe on the last day early or mid morning?? What do you all think?

& OP.....MM is very simple.

- Be one of the first at the turnstiles.
- If you're near the front of the turnstiles, you'll be one of the first on PP. :)
- Then Dumbo (if the elephant is on the list).....then:
- Alice (or Matterhorn), then
- Matterhorn (or Alice) & consider BOTH sides of matterhorn if you do Alice first.
- Toady/Mad Hatter (either order....i normally hop on Hatter if it's getting ready to load, otherwise Toady first.)
- Carousel/Snow White/Pinocchio any order (but i sometimes skip these for later in the day (but they ARE must do's...especially Pinocchio).....& instead go to BUZZ & SM instead the last 20 min. of MM).

:)

Don't waste your MM or any other time on Nemo, very lame. Even my kids thought it was boring. It is really stuffy in those subs, especially if you are sitting with not-so-fresh smelling people :lmao:

I'll share my experience last month during a busy December weekend.

We got into the park and my friend insisted we go to breakfast. She wanted CS, so I brought her to Tomorrowland Terrace. This woman took almost the entire hour eating her french toast. Since I was sitting in front of the seagulls by the entrance to Nemo I could watch the flow of the crowds.

Nemo was slammed when it first opened. I think many people take the advice of the "experts" and head there first. About 45-60 minutes past opening the line was down to a 10 minute wait.

We hopped in line after her last bite (when I convinced her she wasn't going to ge sick on the sub, lol)

The line was only one sub worths of people in front of us. This was about a hour after opening.

I would do fantasyland, then head to Nemo.

In Hound's theoretical trip, I wouldn't ride Storybookland too early any day.

The last couple times I've wanted to ride Storybookland Canal boats, I did so in the first hour of a non-MM day. Thought it would be smart; conventional wisdom says get slow-loader Fantasyland rides out of the way, right?

Both times our touring got really held up -- they were only running 2 boats! A short-looking line took a long time. I think I'd wait until a little later in the day -- might still wait the same amount of time but wouldn't burn up that valuable first hour.

What time would they let MM people in at the park? at 8am sharp? or we can go in around 730ish to get into the park first?

I also seem that TM on Saturday overlaps with MM.. What would be my best strategy to maximize my experience?

Should I go Peter Pan first around 8, then finish fantasy land then to the TM?
or I should go Space Mountain -> Astro Blaster -> Peter Pan -> TM (Will I have enough time for that or I should cut one or 2 rides?) I will be bringing a 9yo.

When can I get FP ? I don't mind pick up FP for Space Mountain/Astro Blaster to come back later if they let us to pick up FP during MM!

Pretty much all of these questions are answered in the MM superthread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

But I will still answer them...
For a Sat. MM, they will start letting people into the park for MM at 7. The only things open are FL rides, BLAB, Space, Nemo and Astro Orbitor.

You should definitely go to Peter Pan first and then do the rest of FL. Toontown Morning Madness doesn't start until 8AM anyway, so might as well do as much as you can between 7 and 8.

FP machines will start giving out FPs at 8AM.

Thanks so much! I found the thread and its very helpful!

I realized MTTMM is only available for those who booked Vacation Package (Boo)..I guess I will use my MM pass this Sat to beat the crowds and enjoy Peter Pan and BLAB. My cousin is already excited about that! Too bad he's scared of Space Mountain tho :(

Nemo, again, last thing at night. Get in line 5 minutes before Park closing.
Storybookland Canal is a tricky one because it closed during fireworks. Therefore, you have to be careful not to plan to ride it during that window or you wil be disappointed. We like one MUCH better during daylight, anyway. When exactly to ride it - I don't really have tips there except to ride during a parade when others elsewhere (i.e. parade route).

Thanks scuba & Dreams. Sounds like Nemo can successfully done at a couple of different times, but Storybookland has always thrown a monkey wrench in my touring. Even using ridemax twice wasn't helpful because sometimes all the boats aren't running & like dreams said they close during fireworks (& also during the parade fyi).

Storybookland & Pinocchio (& Alice) are my two favorite non-E ticket rides. Pinocchio, of course can be done just about anytime, but I can't seem to pencil in Storybookland like i can all of my other favorites.

Oh well....I'm just glad that DL still has them. :thumbsup2

Good info! I'm glad I saw this thread. I know how to tour WDW, but not DL.
We are going to DL this year & will have 2 little ones w/us. The Fantasyland rides are a MUST DO for us, especially the rides only at DL, as we go to WDW often. So Nemo subs are on our list to do, but these posts give me a better idea as to when to ride it. We are willing to miss rides that WDW also has b/c we will be going there next year.

ETA: One thing I want to mention is that we are coming from the Midwest so we will have a 2 hr time difference. That will make it very difficult for us to stay til closing w/our little ones. So riding Nemo at the last 5 min b4 closing won't work for us.

Nemofan, i'm also in the Central time zone & I'm unable to stay up much past the fireworks. (normally at 9:30pm). The up side is that it's easy to get up in the morning & be one of the first at the turnstiles (for MM or for a non MM day).

I would pencil in the Nemo subs 2-3 different times & if there's a 30+ min. line, just walk on by & try it at a different time. If it was me, I'd probably try a MM day at the very end of MM (& send a runner over to SM to get a FP just as the family gets in line).

If you haven't read Hydroguy's tip threads, do so....especially his "DLR for WDW veterans" thread. It's essential reading.

:)

I agree.

If use up your MM just for Nemo, you will kick yourself later. I would do the FL rides first, and then move to Nemo while the line is shorter than it will be later in the day.

I concur! We were very disappointed in this ride. If you happen to pass by during the day and the line is short, go for it. But I wouldn't wait longer than ten or fifteen minutes for this.
