Is Mineral Makeup "Addicting"?

I love my Bare Essentials.
My mom bought it for me for my bday last year...
(LOL-that sounds like I am 14 but I am 34!)

I don't like a heavy makeup and its light enough but cover enough that I still look natural and yet even!

I have not heard anything about being addicting! I would think it can't be any more bad for you than our tap water!

I just got a small sample set from ebay yesterday and OMG....I love this stuff!!! :thumbsup2 The seller forgot to send me the Kabuki brush, so I had to use my crappy old brush to try it out and I loved the way it covered! I used the bisque under my eyes and it instantly covered the darkness! I have never tried anything for under the eyes that covered so nicely.

I am sold....now remind me again so I don't need to wade through all the previous posts...where is the best (read ~ cheapest) place to buy this stuff? The Sephora store isn't really close by.

Also ~ I will be getting the Kabuki brush from the ebay auction...what other brushes are good? WIll I need separate brushes for each type of minerals? one for eyes, one for under eyes, one for blush, one for mineral veil etc??

thanks! THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!!!!!

I like the flawless application brush to apply the foundation. I use the kabuki to apply the mineral veil. These are my two favorite brushes. So glad that you like BE!!!!

Ok...I have the regular Bisque with an application brush that came with it, as a set, from QVC. I'm not seeing great coverage from this for my darkness under my eyes. What could I be doing wrong? I have to say that in addition to darkness, I have darkness along side my eyes/nose, and puffiness/crepey skin under my eyes. Help!

I don't care for using the bisque under my eyes either. It is great for covering blemishes though. I am 40 years old and still get an occasional zit, shouldn't at my age I be exempt from this :confused3 :teeth: ? Everyone seems to like the Well Rested for under their eyes. I may have to break down and purchase this!!!

Well Rested is very good for the dark circles. I think Bisque is great for redness of any kind.

Looking at QVC, I see the Well Rested. What brush should I use for it? I have a brush that came with the Bisque...is this ok? Also, I'd like to buy the Mineral Veil. Can someone go look at QVC at the Mineral Veil/brush combination? It doesn't say what brush that it comes with...it looks like the Flawless Application brush, but based on the cost, I don't think thats it. I "think" I need the flawless application brush but I'm not sure if I should buy it separately or with this Mineral Veil combo. I know this is a lot of questions and I appreciate someone helping me out. I don't have a BE or Sephora anywhere near me. The closest one is 4 hours away. Thanks.

If you are talking about item A62807, it looks like the flawless application brush. But I don't know for sure as it doesn't tell you which brush it is. But if you compare that brush with A44937 which is the flawless application brush, it looks the same.

Yes, thats the one. I thought it looked like the flawless appicaton brush also. I'm so new at this that I don't know how to recognize what I'm looking at (if that makes any sense).

Just checked out the Well Rested on QVC, A64876 is on an introductory price and it comes with a brush. Woo hoo  , I may have to order it!!!!!!

OK, I finally had a chance to play with my kit. I really like the foundation. I have all sorts of skin issues, including redness, acne scars, dark circles, etc. The foundation really evened out my skin and covered up the redness, and it doesn't really look like I am wearing makeup at all. This is much closer to my normal skintone than my usual liquid foundation.

I am not really happy with the dark circle coverage I got, but I see someone tried the well rested. I am going to apply some of that and see how it looks. I also had a bit of a hard time with the eyeliner application, but I am used to using a pencil. I'm sure I will get the hang of it eventually.

Overall, thumbs up!

I just want to "second" your opinion. This stuff covers my redness like nothing else. I have very even skin with it. However, I also have the same problem with the circles. I did buy the Well Rested and it does nothing for my undereye issues. So, I've been mixing it in with my foundation so it does not go to waste.

Anyway, I have ended up using a cream concealer (my favorite happens to be from Sheer Cover because it's nice and greasy and my eyes are dry) but you could use any cream concealer that you like. Put that on first, then the Bare Minerals Foundation then the Mineral Veil. The circles are still there, but that is the best that I can do.

Yup, I am back after trying the well rested. I don't really think it made a difference. I guess I will use my usual concealer under my eyes from now on.

Don't you hate dark circles? They drive me CRAZY! I am too petrified of surgery on my face to seriously consider it in order to get rid of them, but some days...

Oh man! I just bought the Well Rested. I had great hopes for it to hide or at least lighten my dark circles.

I have very dry skin also...especially around my eyes. Christine, where did you get the Sheer Cover?

I saw the BE infomercial and bought everything they offered. Supposedly I am getting $350 worth of items for $95 which includes shipping and handling. I love the BE medium - I guess it is the replacement for foundation. I am 56 and have used estee lauder all my life - but this looks so natural. I have very ruddy skin from aging and sunworshipping. It just looks and feels nice. So now I took the plunge and got the works.
I'll let you know how it goes. I can't wait to get it!

I ordered the Sheer Cover off of Home Shopping Network. They don't always have it so you have to keep checking.

Ulta carried it (just the starter kits) for a short time around Christmas but it is no longer there. I guess I will have to get it on-line. I really like their concealer.

Okay... I took the PLUNGE!

Two of my coworkers use it and both told me of the imperfections they have in their skin... I NEVER SAW ANY OF IT! One had rosacea, the other has blotchiness, all I saw was perfect skin... I don't have any real problems with the skin but would like to see how it would work on mine, anyway.

I was buying my son some sneakers for our upcoming Orlando trip when I realized the DSW store we were in was right next door to an Ulta. I've always been curious about this makeup so I went to get some info.

The lady made up half of my face ... I was shocked. I had NEVER found a foundation that matched my face that perfectly. NEVER! In fact, I don't wear it for that reason. I'm 50, just turned it last weekend, and never used foundation.... can you believe it? When she was finished I had so many people compliment me, I was truly impressed. I looked like me, just more PERFECT!! :teeth:

I bought the kit, TAN, and watched the dvd last night. I swirled, tapped and buffed to the same perfection the expert did this morning. It's so light and comfortable, and it's amazing what it did for my confidence!

Thanks for this thread, ladies! I join you all in my new found "addiction"! :cheer2:
