HI,
Will be at ASMO in April! My 2 DS age 16 and 13 are unsure of the ASMO as being too childish. Will teen boys be ok with this resort? Is the Mighty Ducks ok location wise as that is the one building they thought was an ok theme. If it is too far from the bus, food court etc then we would probably ask for Dalmations or Toy Story but if it is only a short walk we can deal with that.
 Thanks!

We stayed there last year and didnt think it was too far of a walk at all. It is one of the furthest section from the main building, but the whole resort is pretty compact(I had previously stayed at POR which I feel is HUGE!). At MDs you have a "quiet" pool right there between the 2 buildings. It never seemed crowded to us at all. Also, you can walk to the food court and bus stop at ASMU just as easy, as the one at ASMO. This definitely give you an edge on getting a seat on the bus, since it stops at ASMU before ASMO.
We requested MDs again this year as our first choice. I should add we are a family of hockey fans(DS3 & 6). :D

Thanks CamColt,
Any advice on what building or room at MDucks to ask for as a preference? I have stayed at AS Music before and had a 1st floor room which was fine but some people are recommending a 3rd floor room due to load toilets or such. Where do you usually stay? :D

At Mighty Ducks we stayed in building 2(to the right as you look at the pool). I believe building 3 is smoking.
Im not sure, but I think we were on the 2nd floor(or 3rd). We have stayed at ASMO twice(Toy Story once), and we have never had trouble with noise or the famous turbo toilets. Weve never been on the ground floor if that matters.
Occasionally I could hear something, but nothing more than I hear in the deluxe resorts, or other non Disney deluxe hotels. I never have quite understood this complaint from people, unless Ive just gotten lucky in the flushing department. ;)

Hi dznyfan1, we stayed in Mighty Ducks on our first visit to ASMO when it first opened. We had a wonderful time and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in that area again. Yes, as Camcolt said it is the farthest area to the food court etc, but we never felt it was a long walk at all, in fact my kids loved walking through the resort. And as Camcolt also said, the ASMU food court in very close. We ate there sometimes just for a change of pace. One building is smoking however, so it you are concerned with this be aware. When we were there it was the building on the left as you are walking from the food court. We stayed in the building on the right which was non-smoking. Also our room was facing the parking lot and was very quiet. The building also faces in toward the quiet pool, but I don't think you will have any problems with noise because the pool is never really crowded. In fact, during later stays at the resort we were in Toy Story, but we used the Mighty Ducks pool as we all liked the quieter atmosphere better. Also the laundry area in right there at the Mighty Ducks pool which is never as crowded as the one at the main pool. I think you will love the area. The resort is not that spread out.

Have a Wonderful Trip!!!!

We requested Mighty Ducks, as my son was a huge fan. We thought it was great. The quiet pool was nearly empty most of the time, and it was great to sit by it and listen to the music. I did not think the walk was far at all to the food court. We had a room on the second floor and the only noise we heard was a bunch of noisy people shouting as they walked by our door. I think it's a great choice!

The Mighty Ducks is always are choice at the Movies. We have been in the non-smoking building about 4 times now. The quiet pool is usually very quiet. I believe the walk is shorter than staying in the Love Bug/Herbie section. But you also have the option to walk to the food court at the Music, which is actually closer than the Movies food court (pretty much the same stuff).

Thanks for all the feedback. I will definately fax a request for the non-smoking Mighty Ducks building. I am sure my sons will not really care where we sleep once we arrive at Disney. 29 days and counting! :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:
