Is Liberty Tree like a stouffers frozen meal?

We ate at the LTT for dinner. The food was awful. The character interaction was excellent. We will never go back.

I just thought I would chime in here and say myself, my DGF, her mother and sister all loved LTT!! I was afraid the food wasn't going to be good but was I ever surprised! The food was great and so was the character interaction. If we can afford it we will do LTT again!

Honestly, we really didn't like it other than the salad, but if you're looking for a cute character meal, it's worth a shot.

Are we sure that we are talking about the same place. Perhaps there are two LLT's hidden in the park and one is bad and one is good...:rolleyes1

Here's an off hand not really related question... has anyone gotten any birthday cakes there? We're leaving in two weeks and I'm trying to figure out which restaurant to order my FH's birthday cake at. Thanks! :goodvibes

I ordered a cake from LTT for dh's birthday last August. If you go onto the Official Birthday Cake Thread that is a sticky on the top of this forum, you will see the cake. It was a custom cake with Chip & Dale and said Happy Birthday Daddy. I think it was $25 for the cake and $8 for the characters on the cake, but LTT didn't charge me for the Characters and it came to $26 and change. LTT uses the MK Bakery - call there, phone number on the birthday thread 1st page.

Good luck!

Put us in the yuck category as well!

I'm a really good cook, and there's just no comparison to real, homecooked comfort food. I did think it was more like hospital food than frozen dinner, though - no seasonings, very bland, add water and stir kind of stuff.

Just wanted to add a comment to this post. I'm sure many of us consider ourselves very good cooks (myself included) and agree that LTT is not up to par to my home prepared comfort food..HOWEVER..isn't that true for every single meal you eat outside of your own home?? I know it is for me! I have yet to eat...even a hamburger that is better than one I threw on the grill at home.

One more thing I maybe didn't realize until I read this post is that I do NOT like my food seasoned hardly at all. I much prefer to season my food to my tastes, so that is a big attraction for me which may not be for others:scratchin

Also, please remember you are @ WDW where they typically serve hundreds of thousands of guests per day!! I think, with all those factors in mind..LTT is as close to homecooked comfort food as one can expect in such a huge a themed resort. Just my .02

To the PP who said the beef and turkey are processed loaves...THAT IS TOTALLY INCORRECT!! I don't know when you went or what memory that was, but if it was processed then I don't know real meat.

As far as food goes, it ties for number one in my character meal preferences. WE LOVE LTT!!!!:cloud9:

I would have to agree about the turkey. We ate at LTT this past May, and the turkey looked like carved turkey to me. I liked it all. Nothing fancy, but a nice meal :)

Well, it is official, it is about 50/50 on LTT. I will try it and I will report back on what I thought. I will be there April 14, unless I change my mind.:rolleyes1

I knew that would be about what you would get in replies! I think every place at WDW will be that same story. Honestly, if you cancel/change every ADR for every place that gets some bad reviews you will probably end up having to brown bag it from home. This has been a fun thread but in the end we are all just telling our OPINIONS. There is no tried and true formula for what makes a great restaurant for all people.

I just want to thank everyone that posted on this thread!! The dis board has been a wealth of info in planning my trip! I can't wait until I can share the wealth back to all of you!

We just ate there for the first time. The whole family thought it was good-not great. But like someone else said-the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. We had a great waiter, Mark from Wells, Maine. The interaction with the characters was GREAT!!! They came around twice and spent time with the kids-very sweet!!!
We loved the mugs there!!!

Character interaction was great -- very charming. The food tastes like frozen dinners. We won't go back. I think a meal is highly insufficient if the best that can be said about it is "the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold".

We have an ADR for LTT for dinner during our April trip. I made this not expecting gourmet food but more for the character interaction. Once I showed my husband the menu he was excited-he's a meat & potato guy .

Just went to LTT for the first time on 2-12 before the Pirate & Princess Party. Liked the salad, liked the mac n cheese, liked the apple pie like dessert. The rest was very similar to a frozen dinner - our meat looked gray. Character interaction was great - especially Goofy. Met some really nice people. Service was just OK. Won't be going back any time soon.

The restaurant is well themed. Character interactions is great and the service is generally good. Overall it's a nice dining experience.

That said I'll have to agree with the previous posters, GREAT FOOD IS NOT PART OF YOUR DINING EXPERIENCE at LTT. Comparing the food to a Stouffer's frozen meal is a little harsh, but not that far off. Think of Stouffer's food but prepared better. Cooked in a stove and not microwaved.

Have you guys ever actually eaten a frozen dinner?:confused3 Believe me, this is not frozen food - I've had lots of experience with the frozen stuff!;) No comparison!:goodvibes

I have eaten frozen dinners before, but I don't make a habit of it. I just want a really great meal! This will be our very first meal at the world and my children's very first experience with characters. I thought scheduling a character meal on the first night would give them a good dose of what the characters are like. So are you saying that the majority of character meals are not that great food wise? That seems to be what I am hearing.

We had 3 character meals (LTT was one of them) and to be honest with you, we found the food mediocre to pretty tasty, but nothing really knocked our socks off (actually we felt that way about most of what we ate at WDW). BUT with that said, we didn't regret going to any of them and we will go to more character meals in the future!

I can go to a nice restaurant here at home, pay less and get better tasting food (IMO), but there is nowhere here that can I dine with Goofy, Minnie and Mickey. Where can I watch my kids have a blast twirling napkins and jumping out of their seats to give Chip a hug? For us, it's a trade off and that's awesome. It's one week out of a year, and money well spent as far as the memories go.

LTT was our first night's meal, and it was our first trip. The salad was good and fresh, the rest of the food was alright, the service and character interaction was the best we had all week. We may or may not return in November simply because there are other places we'd like to try.
