Hi, For our trip next year we can only go during english school holidays. Which kinda limits us a bit :guilty: Is july a bad time to go? thanks

Yes, it will be the hottest time of the year, and one of the most crowded. But if you go early to the parks, use FP, drink lots of water, and take midday breaks, you'll still have a great time. One nice thing about the summer is that the parks are open later, and usually there are few if any attractions closed due to refurbishment.

I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter when you go! :cool1:

Of course it's really hot and humid in July but once your system gets used to it and you make sure that you stay well hydrated, you'll do fine.

We come from Canada where it does get hot but never like July in Florida and we are fine. As for the crowds, they are manageable if you get to the parks early and have a plan as to what you want to see.

We usually do our must see attractions early morning til 12:00, have a nice lunch and hit as much air conditioning as we can in the PM. It gets a little cooler during the evenings but not that much.

We were there during the last part of July in 2003 and although it was hot, we didn't think the parks were particularly crowded. We didn't really wait for anything except at MK and by utilizing FP we didn't wait for much there. In fact, we walked right on POC and several other things.

We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and it was super crowded. We only stayed for about an hour or so and decided it wasn't worth it.

We're returning this July 14-24. I'm wondering if the increased crowds will carry over into the later part of the summer.

Most of my trips to WDW have been during July. It is very hot and humid. But it never bothered me (nor anyone in my family). Umm.. if you do go, keep in mind drink water. We'd fill up our water bottles after every ride (sometimes we used the water to "shower" over ourselves to cool off when there were no watery attractions around). If you're staying onsite, take a break and go back to the hotel for a dip in the pool.

Also, the only other thing I can say is.. if you have gone low travel times, where the ride waits are short: you will be miserable in July. Now I haven't been to WDW in the summer since they got the fastpass, but I know I went during spring break, and most of the ride waits were under 45 min (except Peter Pan's Flight).

I absolutely recommend Tour Guide Mike's website. The subscription is 21.95 (18.95 with a discount, I think it's from allearsnet.com ??) I used it last year and signed up again this year. He tells you which days to go to which parks, and exactly what order to see the rides so that you wait in the least amount of lines. What makes it better than the guidebooks is that he updates it based on new info that comes out, so you know it's up to date. But, the basic principle is being able to get up early and AT THE PARKS at opening time (not all days, but some) so if you can't do that, I don't know that his (or any!) plan will work for you.

We went at the end of July last year. The parks were crowded but manageable. We did skip the afternoon break because of the time constraints. We had waits of an hour on many rides that didn't have fast passes. It was hot but we had expected that. This year we are going to try first week in December. DS was 6 and DD almost 3 so I don't know about TOT lines etc. You will have fun at any time!

Went went July of last year and I didn't think it was nearly as bad as many people make it out to be. Yes, it was hot. But we drank a lot of water and we were fine. There are plenty of rides/attractions that are inside and heavily air conditioned - that helps a lot. It was pretty crowded, but definitely manageable. Go early and stay late. Be sure to use FastPass whenever you can on all of the big rides and hop onto the others whenever you can. We were only there for 5 days but were able to see everything we wanted and more.

Good Luck :wave2:
