Is it wrong that I buy Huggies

Same here. That's why I posted over here not a Budget Board friendly topic.

Very true. My DH doesn't understand why I insist on buying huggies, although I'm sure he has some clue I just keep telling him that the other diapers don't work as well, which I'm sure is true for some, but I'm sure I'd be able to find something a little cheaper that worked just as well, but it reminds a little of Disney.

Me too! Ever since dd#4 first trip to see E-OH (for some reason, that is what she calls Minnie and Mickey), I bought her huggies to see her reaction when she saw them on her diappie. And I was right!

Funny, cause through 5 kids, I have never liked huggies. Always did pampers with my first and luvs with everyone else. Luvs sucks these days! Leakage every time!! Back to pampers, much better.

Didn't know huggies had Minnie and Mickey on them. Must be something new, cause I don't remember that when DD was little. How cute is that? If I saw them back then I would of bought some.

Nope... My daughter is wearing Huggies with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger on them right now. Of course, I like them because it has the "I'm wet and dirty" indicator line, that means DH can't play dumb.

But the Disney characters are a nice touch!

DS (2) loves to go run and get Mommy a "sleepy Mickey" diaper for bedtime!
I agree huggies all the way for boys, especially the overnights!

That study was done by Proctor & Gamble I believe. Cloth is in fact better for the enviroment and doesn't use that much water and I use regular Tide detergent so if thats the case my clothes should be disposable too. And FWIW the poop goes down the potty not the wash so it's much better than tossing and contaminating our ground soil.

Now I'm really confused. I thought the scary part was all that detergent getting used, not the amount of water used or the poop itself. Nevermind, I'll just go hunt up the studies. Likely they'll be one to flatly contradict the other. We should just engineer kids who poop less...

We started buying the Huggies Supreme when my daughter was born just cause of the Pooh designs. Turns out we liked them much better than Pampers, particularly when Pampers switched to the weird mesh lining. And the Pampers swell up sooooo much when they're wet, so I was always changing my daughter thinking she was soaked and that was not the case at all. Then they went to that blue band, which I did not find very attractive on my daughter.

I really think diapers leak based on the build of the child, cause I have a girl and a boy and neither one could wear Pampers cause they always leaked. I'm not even trying them this time around.

I wish they had those on the bigger sizes, we loved that indicator line.

I've had a package of both Pampers and Huggies and neither have the indicator anymore.

With Lucas we can figure out if it is dirty because it feels hard in the front... so thats our wetness indicator now!!


I buy what I have coupons for and what I can combine with sales... Lucas doesn't leak in anything, including the generics we were gifted at the shower.

Usually Huggies though. DH accused my stockpile of Huggies on Mickey and Minnie but they really just have better coupons.

If anyone sees a GRACO catalog on the counter at their OB/Gyn office take tons of them....there is a $2.00 Huggies coupon in there that does not expire till 5/2010. My Dr. office told me to help myself. These have come in very handy when buying diapers for two children. I love using them on top of sale prices! Just a tip...for anyone expecting look out for them at your Dr. office.

Patsy, I will defend you to your DH. Huggies has coupons in the newspaper all the time and Pampers rarely does in comparision.

Again I'll say the study was skewed because I only use Tide He up to the 1 line for a whole load of diapers. That's what most cloth users follow(not tide per say but the amount of detergent 1st line or less). Less detergent is actually better for them.

Pampers does not work for us. Little Emily is allergic to them so we buy huggies. The disney characters are an extra bonus hehehe

We've been buying Huggies Supreme since DD came home from the hospital because everytime we tried Pampers Swaddlers on her, they leaked. I was happy about us not using Pampers since they have a scent added to them and it made my allergies go crazy! About a year ago, we started using the Overnites and we love those too. Having Mickey & friends on the diapers is just a bonus for us!

True we can't use any of the enviro friendly ones due to allergies but alot of fluff lovers use them. I wish people knew that the reports were done by sposie companies.

I tried to sew DS some cloth dipes but we just went through them too fast and I couldn't do laundry 4 times a day, nor could I afford the money for PUL to make tons more. I was surprised at how much this kid goes! LOL
We did cloth to save money.

So we ended up going back to disposables. If I could find cheap PUL I'd make cloth training pants for him and for our upcoming baby make dipes. But it's pretty pricey, unfortunately.

On the newborn Huggies Little Snugglers. It's yellow and turns blue when wet or dirty. Molly weighed almost 9 lbs at birth, and the newborn Pampers Lil Swaddlers were just too small, and the size 1 were still too big. So we went with the Huggies and so far, so good. No blowouts in two weeks, knock on wood.

Ah, that would be why. My boy's in Huggies size 6. We used Pampers swaddlers when he was a newborn.
