Since we are staying at the WL for the next seven days, I was contemplating making a day out of exploring the Lodge as well as the Campgrounds next door? Any guidance on this?
I would say, DO IT. We love the campground. There is a petting zoo and stables. Pony rides for the little ones, the Trails End Buffeteria, the beach, Carriage rides, the trading post, the campfire program and much more. If you have the time to take it in, I would. I would ride the boats over.
We have a lazy morning planned where we plan on sleeping late, having breakfast at Whispering Canyon, explore the Lodge and go swimming. We'll then head to Epcot in the late afternoon for the evening.
We plan on going to the FW campground for dinner at Trail's End one evening and then exploring the campground and maybe stick around for the campfire. This will be after spending our morning and early afternoon at AK. So we are splitting our exploring into two different days so my boys still feel like we also got a park in that day.
I don't know about a full day's of activity here but definitely do the campfire movie!! We had such a great time at this and in Oct the weather will be even better than the heat of summer when we went!
Check out the Camping Boards for more info and a list of the movies that will be playing.
Absolutely! If you like the woodsy camping thing. I enjoy spending down time at FW. Diiner at Trails End Buffet is pretty decent. The petting farm is fun for the kids. I find it so peaceful there. You can boat right from the WL or I believe you can even bike over to WL. (depending on the time of day). There is suppose to be a path from the WL to FW. I would do it.
Yep, I agree w/ the others! We only did the campfire and I wish we had set aside time to do the rest! Maybe go late afternoon and stay through the campfire program that night! Have fun!
Its a pleasant 10-15 minute walk from WL to FWCG along a nature trail.
Dinner at Trails End is really worth it. I had $15.00 worth of shrimp alone. And there were mussells and buffalo, and ribs and good pasta and lots more.
Its a pleasant couple of hours diversion.
