Is it Worth Seeing Illuminations

Sure, if it's not going to kill other plans. It's very short and the least "spectacular" of all the nighttime fireworks events.

I know Fantasmic is at Hollywood Studios and is a longer "show."
But I thought Illuminations and Wishes were about the same length? No?

One thing I recommend for Illuminations is to go out to wikipedia and read about the story behind the presentation. Share that with your family. Trust me, that makes the experience well worth it and you don't have to deal with "this is boring" because your kids will know what is being represented by that so-called slow part. And the fireworks will really mean something.

You will have a much better appreciation for this great symphonic composition if you have an idea of the progression. There are musical themes throughout the entire show: Chaos, Life, Adventure, Creativity. We bought the CD years ago and love the music. You can really tell what section you are on based on the mood and tone of the music
