Is it worth bringing sunglasses to the park?

I strongly suggest that you do, if only because I once found a pair on Sunset Blvd. in DHS that I wore for the rest of my visit. If that person had not brought sunglasses that day, I wouldn't have found them.

And before I get flamed for not turning them in to lost and found, these were not any $90 pair. Just some dollar-store wire frames that made my kids blush when I wore them (which of course only encouraged me!). :cool2:

Without a doupt! I bring my DG's and if I get tired of wearing them I just use them to hold back my hair.

I would definitely bring sunglasses and back-up sunglasses. B/c I've broken my sunglasses twice. Once I put my sunglasses in my bag on the Living with the Land ride and they smooshed so many people in the one row that they broke. And the adult sunglasses at the gift shops in Disney are not cheap (like $20-30). Maybe I am just a cheap person, but I could prob find less expensive sunglasses at home.

You can always push them up on your head or hook them on your shirt when you go indoors. No one wants to be squinting in all their vacation pictures!

We always wear sunglasses. Occasional on the cable shopping networks you can find the fold up type. They are still 100% protection, but they are a bitsmaller. The arms slide into themselves, fold over, then they fold in 1/2 again. They end up being about 1/2 inch thick, by about 1 1/2 inches around. easy to fit into a pocket, or fanny pack. And if you put them on top of your head they don't seem to fall off easily.

Only necessary if you don't want your corneas burning from the bright sun. :)

If I don't have mine I have a headache mid-day from all of the squinting, which also will lead to more wrinkles  .....

I always wear sunglasses. Sometimes even on overcast days. :cool2: I can't stand glare, I hate squinting, and I get horrible headaches from the sun. I couldn't imagine being in Florida without them. :scared:

I always have mine, either on my eyes or on top of my head. Last year, at the end of our trip, my (then) 3 year old nephew put a pair of sunglasses on his head and said, "Who am I? I'm Aunt Lauri. Why does she do that? Why does she wear them on top of her head?" :rotfl: :cool2: :rotfl: I can't stand to be without them in Indiana, I'm sure not going to go anywhere in Florida without them.

I get my sunglasses at Mouse Gear's at Epcot. The ones I always get are around $16 (not very expensive if you ask me - even if they were $20) I wear them every day around home and definately need them at Disney World. Can't tell you how many times we have to make a bee line to Epcot and Mouse Gear's to get sunglasses for DH since he forgot his at home.

Best store in WDW to get them is either Mouse Gear's or World of Disney at DTD since they have the biggest selection but you can find them at most any gift store around WDW.

Absolutely! You only have two eyes and need to protect them!

YES! Sunglasses are ALWAYS necessary to protect your eyes - not just at Disney, but any time you're out in the sun (including when it's cloudy).

Now, a few years ago I heard that since it opened, over a million pairs of sunglasses have been lost at WDW; you're going to want to use some type of holder/chain.

That includes a favourite (not terribly expensive) pair of mine in March, 2007. Had to buy another pair for about $15 that I didn't really like and weren't the most flattering or comfortable just so I could even go back to my resort for my spares. *sigh* The selection was really bad in MK that day. *LOL*

I have a pair of those! Didn't think to take them to WDW with me, although they usually reside in my purse at home--just in case! I've managed to break a few pairs of sunglasses over the years.

I don't know if they're necessary for everybody, but they're definitely necessary for me! That Florida sun is too bright for me! But I've become addicted to those Serengeti drivers sunglasses. I even wear them on cloudy days because they cut the haze so well.

not only do i bring (prescription) sunglasses, i also use the clip-ons to make them extra dark for when it's really bright out :)

Definitely a must. The sun is so bright it will give you headaches.

Bring a cheap pair and use an eyeglass leash so you don't leave them anywhere like I always do halfway through the trip. :rotfl2:

Definately a must . One time hubby forget them back at the room. He spent some of ' his ' souvenier $ on them ;) , he said he needed a pair or we would have to go back to the room.

Bring them, but bring cheap ones! People lose them all the time. Disney will sell unclaimed lost and found items to CM's really cheap, and there would be new sunglasses in there daily. One of the highlights of my College Program experience was when I scored an awesome pair of real Prada Sunglasses for only $1! I couldn't believe someone brought sunglasses that expensive to WDW, and then of course lost them...and didn't claim them:confused:

This was me: :cool1:

I am a sunglasses freak! I have SO many pairs-some cheap, some expensive! I take my wrap side Oakleys, really expensive when I go to WDW. They look great but they also wear well in cloudy or supersun, so it is a must for me.

I am one of those rare women who would rather buy a pair of sunglasses than a pair of shoes or a purse!:confused3

I guess it is from the same reason that others have said on here-if I don't, I get horrible migraines. Like, crying on my knees bad.

So, wear those glasses!:cool2:

Last time we went my husband lost his glasses and we bought another pair at a Disney premium for a less than impressive pair of sunglasses. So this year, I bought us each a $5 pair of sunglasses from Walmart - just in case. Definately bring at least one pair.
