We were in the AK 2 years ago......we saw everything we wanted to, except the Lion King show. We tryed on 2 different days and both days it was closed because of smoke (this is when the big fires were happening near Disney).

We are going in August and planning to do just our favorites at the parks and spending most of our time at the resort. Is it worth a trip over to AK just to see the Lion King?

I will be goin solo at the end of June. Animal Kingdom is the first park I will be visiting. Number one reason is because of the Lion King Show. It is awsome. The vocalists are out of this world. The second reson is because I want to get my face painted. When we took the family in 2000, I allowed my girls to have their faces painted. I want the same look for a day. I sure hope they still do that. When we were Christmas 2002 it rained 7 or our 9 days and we didn't have an opportunity to do this.

In any event - GO! And have a magical time.:smooth:

It is a brilliant show - my absolute favourite. Cry every time I see it (I'm the same with the film as well)! I would definitely say it is worth a trip just to see that. We work our whole schedule around when we are going to see LK when we are at Animal Kingdom.

Absolutely!! In my opinion, this is one of the best shows on Disney property. It is incredible. Do not miss it!

Have a great time!

In my opinion (and my family's), yes! This was our favorite of all the shows!

Yes, it's worth it! We never miss that show, along with the safari. Keep in mind that the show times are all after noon. As long as you're going there, go check out the Primeval Whirl. It's good for a giggle, and should be a new ride for you. Diana

My family also loves Festival of the Lion King. It's a must see. I love AK. My DH and older DD don't mind skipping the park but they love the show.

Hi,

It is a good family show - but not worth the price of admission just to see it alone and not do anything else.

Are you sure you can't stay for a while and do some rides as well?

You could get tickets to the broadway production of Lion King - for the cost of admission.

If you are going to visit another park that afternoon, definetly go and see the show it is awesome.it is the best show at Disney, IMHO.i have seen all the shows and Lion King gets my vote hands down.

We went last week for the first time and loved it! We made plans to be there at opening (we were picked to do be "safari first family"). We did that, the dinosaur stuff, ITTBAB", and The Lion King Show. It's a must-see! My favorite from all the parks. Anyway, we were out of there by 12:45 and we did all that stuff. Then we went on to another a park.

Primeval Whirl...YIKES! I hated that thing, and I usually like coasters. It's supposedly tame, but I didn't like hanging out over the edge of the track!!!

WOW....I guess it's unanimous!! We aren't paying admission to just go there for the day.....we have LOS passes with the FTP.

Me too.......LOVE the Lion King movie, one of our favorites. Thanks for the responses, this makes me feel better about driving over to AK....even if that is all we will do there. :D

I think it is. We didn't do a whole lot at the AK park last time, but I would definitely go to see that show again! It was so amazing. I think the earliest show is at noon or so, so you might as well go in the AM and see a few things again, and after you see the show head over to a different park.

The show is great. I'm not really into these shows, but this one was very entertaining.
